I can see fun centers (the arcade/mini golf/go cart places) start disappearing. These are already disappearing like crazy in my area. Hell, arcades all but disappeared for me like a decade ago

Re: Atlas: No, you need a backup to GPS. GPS is only as good as the power supply, being able to read a map is still a pretty useful skill. Besides, Maps get stolen from cars less.
Yeah, all media stores are in trouble, which is sad, as bookstores are awesome to hang out in.
Malls aren't dying. Population centers are reshuffling, and some cannot support the same mails they used to.
I think the Shakers are probably the safest bet.

I said it 10 years ago and I will say it again. AM radio and maybe even FM radio. Around the World many countries are doing away with analogue TV signals. I think once that's done they will move to radio. I'm still surprised that so much money goes into A.M radio, Surely the with the money some these stations have they could move to the F.M band and have some decent sound quality. A.M radio gets by on the strength of talk station. The best of which are usually number one in their market. Some people, like me, prefer to keep up with the news via AM talk radio. FM might have a better sound but that really doesn't matter to me because the content is horrible. I have heard the same one song by Night Ranger many times before, I don't need to hear it once an hour. Pop radios play list can be memorized in an hour because that is all the music they will play for three monthes. Rap stations are some of the biggest frauds in the world. You can't call your station The Cell Block and a bleep out 90% of your songs due to naughty language. The bumpers promise hard core gangsta rap from the hood but the play list is mostly slow jams. The music industry is deader than dead but the nice thing about AM radio is the news is different everyday. And if you don't like news, there is also sports talk which is another huge part of AM radios business.

Disposable cameras since every cellphone has a camera now days. Hell maybe camcorders and digital cameras too since most newer phones are recording in HD and have atleast 5MP cameras now.

Malls is an interesting subject in my area. Some do well and others don't. Where I live there I know of 6 or 7 malls. Now a couple of them failing big time. Infact The closest one to my house is no longer anymore. Just a big empty building as the last remaining store I think is closing in Sears.
Theres one other mall in the same situations. Yet theres others who are doing very well. Two of them in the last couple years did a remodel job and are now filled up. One other one stays filled but expanded over time. So it a weird thing because location seems to be everything. Gotta be where the spenders are I guess.

The Prince thing was started by a writer that wrote an article totally out of context of what Prince was saying.
He wasn't saying that the internet was finished. In his opinion the current way we do digital music is through. In his opinion, Itunes and the like don't do a good job of distributing music that is financially beneficial to the artist and he feels their needs to be a different medium to release music in.
On the other hand, I gotta disagree with malls. Most of the malls inn South Louisiana are doing extremely well with one, Mall of Louisiana, just finished a massive expansion.

And I for one welcome our new swine overlords and would like to remind them that as a beloved poster I could be useful in rounding up other humans for their sausages.

A friend and I were thinking that physical books will become rarer as digital reading on things such as Nooks become more popular. This makes sense because it is cheaper to produce, more environmentally friendly and takes up less space but it makes me sad. I love the feel of an actual book in my hands, the different smell of the pages. Sometimes when I read off a screen I don't comprehend as well as having a book actually in front of me.
