I recently got into two shows on the History Channel, American Pickers and Pawn Stars. I find them to be cool real shows to watch if there is nothing on.
Am I the only one who watches these two shows on the History Channel?

I used to watch the History Channel back when they actually ran shows about history. Granted, they did go overboard with the Hitler/Nazi stuff. But Ice Road Truckers is kinda cool.

I've come to really enjoy pawn stars. I mean at least a good majority of the stuff items shown do have a history behind them. Also I laugh at the people whose stuff is worthless. Some people get peeved off about that.

I love both shows. I think it's amazing how what some people would consider just junk in their garage, actually ends up being worth quite a bit of money.
I really like Pawn Stars also, some items people bring in are really cool.

I watch them both, I think there really fascinating not to mention entertaining. I enjoy Pawn Stars the most I'd have to say because of the people. They are just so colorful and different, it's a great mix.

I like those two aswell as Ice Road Truckers though I haven't been able to watch this season as much. I like American Pickers a little more because they go to different places. I liked when they visited the collector Ron's place. But no one can beat The Old Man.

American Pickers is a cooler more up to date version of Antique's Roadshow. I love it and always watch the new episodes every Monday. Same with Pawn Stars. Both History and Discovery have some of the best shows on TV< but I think History's show need more mainstream credit.

Lmao like that dude who brought in the statue (last night's new episode) and come to find out it was reproduction and Rick even showed him where it was a fake and the dude still didn't believe him and freaked out haha.

The guy who brought in five fake Pete Rose cards reaction was great. "If these aren't real is the wife real? The cat?" Just his beavior was a red flag. He says hes a long time collector but he kept five Pete Rose cards in the garage. And when asked if there's a story to it, he immediately says they're authentic. I think he got scammed for those cards and trying to unload them for something.

Gotta hand it to those guys. You got to have a helluva eye to spot some of those forgeries.

I like both shows, but I like Pawn Stars a little more because I find the main guys to be more likeable than the pair on American Pickers (not saying they're not likeable, that is).
Plus, whenever the Old Man threatens someone, it's a lmao moment. "I'm about to bring down the wrath of God on one of you" always gets a laugh from me.

The pawn show is pretty funny just for the way the same two patterns happen over and over. Guy will go in all "I won't take anything less than x", then accepts like 1/8x. Or, the specialist comes in and goes "this is like $5000 at auction" and then Rick offers the person like $300 and they take it. I don't know why the item owners don't just go "This is some thing that's been around my house for like 10 years, I just want it out of my house, and I want to do so while on TV." No shame in that, it's a fun show.
The picker show I don't like as much, because the two guys arguing sound like some old married couple. They're not even arguing, they're just making noise to annoy one another. Plus when they show the "price paid > appraised value" part, I always wonder who is going to pay like $800 for some old rusted out sign or a farm tool.
And something both shows do, which I hate, is that thing where they'll go to a location to see an item, but the camera is already inside this person's house and they still go through the charade of ringing the doorbell and introducing themselves. Your crew is already here, just show us the item.
