Day 1: Mr. Perfect!Every day, I'll post a wrestler who has never won the WWE Championship and we'll vote on whether or not he deserved to win the belt during his time there. When we run out of interesting people, we'll have a battle royal with all of the people who got more yes votes than no votes! In your voting, consider whether or not it would have been wise to put the belt on the worker at the time of his run, not just whether or not he was a worthy champion. For example, Jake Roberts would have no doubt been a great champion, but was it smart to put the belt on him at the height of Hulkamania? That's up for discussion.

No. Intercontinental was better for him. His back problems in 1991 basically meant he was rarely a full time performer after that, so theoretically he would have had to be a WWE Champion before then. If he would have started out in today's era he could have because titles change hands way too much and way too many people win them.

yes, and heres 2 ways it could have worked...
1. In late 1990/early 1991 henning with the IC title faces ultimate warrior in a title for title match and wins (most likely with heenan family help). He forfeits the IC title and defends the world title against hogan at wrestlemania 7 and loses.
2. When he was a face in 1993, he wins the royal rumble then faces bret hart at wrestlemania 9 in a rematch from their summerslam 91 match. Perfect wins in an excellant match (makes 9 much better) and holds the title for about 6 months.

If he was a full time performer during the post Hogan era, yes. But he wasn't so, no.

Yes....it would have gotten the "Perfect" persona over even more than it did.

Yes.
He would of added prestige to the title. His win would of been believable/credible since he was a talented wrestler, he could talk, and with Heenan as manager getting all that heel heat it would of been beautiful.

Absolutely yes. Maybe not so much at the height of Hulkamania, because back then he was an anchor of the WWF's midcard along with a handful of other guys. But certainly in 1993 a title run would have been great. Yeah he was working a more sporadic schedule, but at that point he was one of if not the most over face in the company.
This is a cool thread idea btw.

I think Perfect's strenghts were in making the other guy look like million bucks. To me, that's not how a World Champion should work, so no, I don't think Mr. Perfect was destined to be WWE World Champ.

Nope; the IC title was his "World Title"
