Not in a kayfabe sense, but what wrestlers do you feel sorry for that are not getting pushes they deserve (obviously it's hard to feel sorry for guys who make as much money as they do, but you get what I mean).
Two come to mind for me, Matt Hardy and Chavo Guerrero, but mostly Chavo.
Chavo to me is a great wrestler who has been reduced to nothing but comedy skits with Hornswoggle, when, if booked right, he could've been a legit midcarder or more right now.
Anybody else you think deserves a long-awaited push?

For some silly reason, I feel sorry for Funaki. On one hand you might say he's probably the luckiest wrestler of all time due to him surviving the "firing season" year after year; but has the WWE really ever done anything w/ him? They've dragged their feet for years w/ this guy, letting him get creamed at house shows, and what does he have to show for it? A couple of meaningless title reigns - 1-time Hardcore and 1-time Cruiserweight Champ.

I don't know how "long-awaited" these pushes would be but:
-Dolph Ziggler: Fought like hell chasing the IC Title last year, taking on both Misterio and Morrison in some pretty damn fantastic matches. And yet, the belt winds up around the waist of boring-ass Drew McIntyre.
-Mike Knox: I really enjoy the hyper-intelligent monster character, and Knox seems to have all the tools necessary to pull it off. But for whatever reason, the guy can't even buy a victory. If they actually presented him as, y'know, difficult to defeat, he just might get over.

I second Chavo. Talented wrestler, who lost the two peole closest to him in the business, yet is still willing to compete, only to be resorted to pure poppycock

Chavo definitely.
This may seem an odd one but William Regal. He has as much charisma as anybody on the roster, has the look, can brawl great aas well as mat wrestle better than almost much anyone, can get convincingly over as face or heel, as serious or comedy character.....and he's essentially a midcarder for life, and barely even wrestles now. I know he was due for a big push when he won KOTR & the steroids cocked it up but I nevertheless believe if he was American he'd be a former WWE Champion by now (I know he used to say he didnt want the belt, but he also reconsidered that in 07 or so). He deserves to be the 1st ever British WWE Champ and he's probably never gonna do it, which saddens me.

Matt Freakin' Hardy. Hasn't done bad for himself, but has busted his ass for years and hasn't had half the success Jeff has had, whose track record says he doesn't deserve it.

I don't see how you could feel sorry for Matt. Even with his junkie brother in TNA, he's still one of most over wrestlers to have never held a world title, and his match at Wrestlemania 25 was one of the few saving graces besides HBK/Taker.
I'm gonna have to go with Chavo too.

matt hardy, and not because of what happened after his breakup with the babe in my sig. being stuck on the same brand as taker, batista, edge, king BOOOOOOOOOOKAARRGH!, the highly overpushed jack swagger, triple h, john cena, rey mysterio, jericho, and, sadly, his own brother (who deserved his title runs, in my own opinion) has not done him favors. this, however, is why i think he will win mitb on sunday.

Matt Hardy. He is capable of being at a higher level. Mark Henry, as that guy should have had at least one reign as World champion. I feel bad for Chavo as well.

Are we limited to WWE here? If so, Chavo is a big one.
Non-WWE, Booker T is another case of someone who politics just buried in the E. Unfortunate, really.

Chavo times 100. He lost two people extremely close to him and was directly involved in the discovery of both deaths. I can't imagine how haunting that must be. And then to be treated this way and turned into a joke?
I agree with pretty much everybody else mentioned. The Hart Dynasty (I can't for the live of me figure out why they're not pushed), Regal, Matt Hardy, Dolph, definitely Shelton.
Also, Jack Swagger, I feel a bit sorry for Bourne but things seem to be going better for him, and apparently his entire career goal was to be a masked jobber in WWE, so he's doing better than he even wanted to. Cody Rhodes, of course, but I've ranted enough about that one.
Also, FINLAY. I know that he likely doesn't want a championship but I still feel bad for the poor guy. He's been wrestling longer than half the roster has been alive. He should at least be higher up on the card, you know?
And Carlito. I know that he hasn't been putting in the effort supposedly, but I truly believe that it's because he just got tired of the treatment he was getting. Carlito has proven that he can put on a good match - his match with Bourne on Superstars is still one of the best matches of the year. If they give the poor guy a chance to prove himself, he does it.
And, HEAR ME OUT HERE, Hornswoggle just a bit. I find it really upsetting that they treat him like a child and make him act like one. He's insanely popular backstage and likely a really good guy, but he's being used as one of the greatest reasons that people are getting fed up with WWE. There are better ways they could use him.

The Hart Dynasty.
I do NOT feel bad for Chavo. He's always been a comedy character. Before Hornswoggle there was Kerwin White. Before that was Chavo Classic. Lieutenant Loco. Insurance salesman. Pepe the stick horse. Eddie's personal T-shirt model. There's been so much of it that I have to believe he's asking for these kind of roles himself.
