So I just finished watching Wrestlemania and I must say there were a lot of good matches, but the HBK vs Taker 2 match didn't live up to it's expectations.
It seems like Taker's knees really gave out early in the match when he did the oldschool and it seems like he had trouble standing throughout the entire thing.
Shawn Michaels delivered some really nice moves, but he too seemed to have lost some of the energy he had during the last match.
I must say that the ending was very touching, but the match itself wasn't all that good. What do you guys think?

Sometimes complaints happen when a wrestler doesnt sell, now complaints happen when a wrestler does sell..... I thought it was one of the 2 best(along with Austin HHH 3 stages of hell) matches in terms of storytelling and in ring psy. I have ever seen. Truly breathtaking

They really told a story which is what you want. Memo to all young wrestlers you can do all the crazy moves you want and go through a thousand tables but if you dont tell a dramatic story in the ring you wont make it.

I personally didn't think it topped their match from last year, but dadgom it was an awesome match. Like everyone else in the thread said, incredible storytelling.

I always feel like wrestling fans have a short memory. To me, the Kurt Angle matches were Shawn's best.

Have Undertaker and Michaels ever had a bad match?
My pick for least enjoyable was the Casket Match for the WWF title at the '98 Royal Rumble. Not really bad, but they've had a lot better ones.

Well I'm sorry for not watching Wrestling 10 years ago, I just recently got into it and even though I have watched some DVD's, I cannot care for everything that happened in the old days.
Yes, they told a great story, yes the match was very epic at the end, but the quality of the match itself was in my opinion horrible. They both got "tired" way too early in my opinion, dragging their bodies across the ring after only a few moves.
A match that tells a story is great, but it should have quality in it as well. I personally think last years Taker vs HBK match was great, though it lacked backstory. This had backstory aplenty, but it lacked moves, and I found myself really waiting for those epic big moments to happen, but the only moment that came close was when Michaels backflipped off the top rope into the announcers table, everything else was below average, at least for wrestlemania standards.

I was there live at Wrestlemania 26, and I watched Wrestlemania 25 last year at home.
Being there live, I think Taker vs. HBK from Sunday wasn't overall as good as last year's, but it was still pretty damn good, and a fine way for Michaels to go out. I'll watch it on DVD to really compare the two when it's available, but that's what I think right now.

I always feel like wrestling fans have a short memory. To me, the Kurt Angle matches were Shawn's best. His Jericho XIX match and Angle WM 21 match are my two favorite comeback era HBK matches. Anyway, this was as good of a match as you could have expected. There was no way to top the first one, so they went a different route with it which is nice to see.

Yeah, I didn't feel like the first one could be topped and I was right. Someone else said it on this board. After Undertaker hit that first tombstone last year, I thought it was over and really would've been satisfied if the match had just gone that far, but Michaels kicked out, that was frickin' mind-blowing. This year, I expected him to kick out of the first tombstone, and he did.
Still a very good match, in any case.

Possibly the greatest match finish ever! Austin catching Sweet Chin Music and reversing it into a spin-around Stunner was 500x cooler, IMO

I didn't think the match was anything special (aside from being Michaels last match)

Possibly the greatest match finish ever! Austin catching Sweet Chin Music and reversing it into a spin-around Stunner was 500x cooler, IMO Ya but this was more emotional and it had shades of Flair vs. HBK at WM24.

It wasn't better than their WM 25 match, but it had more memorable spots. I think that Taker was selling the knee, he wasn't really having trouble standing (I hope anyway). I'll forever been amazed at how HBK was able to land directly on Taker's legs when he did the moonsault to the table spot. Either that was a really good botch, or HBK has eyes in the back of his head.

I actually liked i more, maybe on paper it wasn't technically better (though Im not even sure what that means in a fake sport) but the story and emotions were so overpowering at times I realized my mouth was open in amazement of what I was seeing. It was awesome, match of the night, and match of the year so far IMO.

It had the return of the jumping Tombstone which was awesome. However, I was at Wm25 and that match was by far the best match I have seen. I am sure I'm bias because the energy of the arena was insane.

I prefered WM 25 match as a wrestling match
But WM 26 was better for Story & Emotion (Also the Jumping Tombstone was awesome)
