Would this work?
With guys like Evan Bourne and Carlito and Primo and Chavo would it work to start this up again? There was a rumor last year about the WWE bringing in El Hijo del Rey Mistereo although I don't think that is happening now.
I miss the old triple threat crusierweight matches of wcw and ecw. I know Vince isn't really fond of pushing the smaller guys but I'd love to see it.
So the question is not would the wwe do it but if they did would it go over well?

Would it work? Of course. I think the fans would get into it. In my opinion kids aren't into Mysterio because he wears a mask. It's his high flying stuff that hooks them. If the WWE would actually let the guys perform and give them a belt that they fight for exclusively I think it could work really well.
But they won't. Honestly I think the WWE could make anything work as long as they pull the trigger on it and work on it. The tag division could be doing quite well right now but they won't put the effort into it.

That's my train of thought on it as well.

2002-04 Smackdown was a very strong show because pretty much everybbody on the card had somethnig to do, the cruiserweight division being a large part of that. WCW, through all the nonsense, hooked fans through its strong cruiserweight division. Cruiserweights are consiodered a smark's favourite but as a mark I loved them.
They could have a great cruiser division, it might restore Chavo some credibility and could help elevate guys like Bourne. I mean, look at the cruiser division you could have: Rey, Yoshi, Bourne, Gabriel, Chavo, Tyson Kidd, Primo, Heath Slater, Funaki, JTG, and Daniel Bryan, The Miz, John Morrison, and Carlito if you wanted. Plus there's Kaval when he's called up & Dos Caras when he's called up. Even if you didnt include guys like Miz, Morrison, Bryan etc. thats still a VERY strong cruiserwreight roster.

It could probably work. I think the title dying had less to do with Hornswoggle, and more to do with a bad trend: LONG heel reign after LONG heel reign.
Gregory Helms had the title for like a year. Do they have a face beat him for that big pop? No. Chavo beats him. Then Chavo has the title for a long time. Then it goes to Hornswoggle.
Even casual fans could see Jimmy Wang Yang and his ilk weren't getting the title. Why give a crap at that point?

Not much point, considering WWE's way of booking the division was always, "When a challenger's getting over, have Chavo win it instead".

I think all cruiserweights should move to SD, should the title be revived. Raw would just forget about them.
Also, have Evan Bourne beat Gregory Helm's record.

I think that it could be a huge draw if given the time to get over, but in the same ilk what can a cruiserweight do if he gets too over?
If they make a shw thats devoted to that style of wrestling, then it will be over like Rover. However if they have these guys and then a 7ft giant on the same show it takes away from them/
