I do think all the people that cry about Raw need to suck it up, and accept the fact that they aren't the target audience anymore. Kids are again. People complain about John Cena and Rey Mysterio beiong shoved down their throats, and wish *insert great mat technician with mediocre mic skills* would get pushed. Guess what? The kids that they are aiming for eat it up, and LOVE Cena and Mysterio. That's like watching a cartoon and wishing it was edgier, or that Donatello would get pushed more then Leonardo in the Ninja Turtles. I'm willing to bet when a lot of us were kids, we were Hulkamaniacs, or cheered the Warrior. Same thing going on now.

No.
As someone else said, if Im not enjoying Raw on a given night, I watch something else.
Going PG, as much as people may hate it, was the right move to make.

I think it's fine.
There's a lot of stuff on raw I find pretty stupid, but next to none of it really has anything to do with the PG thing...other than hornswoggle I guess.

I do not feel embarrassed or insulted watching RAW, however I think my IQ drops about 50 points. Glad to see I'm not alone.

I am sometimes. Little People's Court, and the MacGrubber stuff made me need to take a shower afterwards.

But does that mean they have two wrestlers pulled under a ring, and go into court for midgets. Appealing to kids is fine, but putting on bad television shouldn't be accepted. I personally have no problem with Cena and Mysterio (especially when Cena showed his skills against David Otunga, I liked that). As a matter of fact, I'm all for Cena being a top guy. It's just embarassing television that's bad. Smackdown's PG too, and for the most part, doesn't do a lot of the bullshit done as the guests hosts. And also, the response, if you don't like it, watch something else, is a bad response. Because it doesn't address the problem. It's not that they appeal to kids. It's that they sometimes put on bad television.

Unlike Rey's excellent mic skills As far as the original question, it's occasionally insulting how stupid it is, but I'm never really embarassed with it, if I don't like what's on I just change it.

I don't care that they're marketed towards kids, however I do care that the show is one of the worst years of RAW in the history of its existence.

So I know a lot of people are split on the whole TV-PG thing, and Raw being aimed at kids rather than everybody. So my question is are you insulted/embarrased by the WWE marketing strictly towards kids, or do you embrace the move and just hope for the best? Let's just say I saw the TNA show on Monday and am this close to recoding it instead of Raw. Although I guess they replay the TNA one on Thursday. But man alive do I tivo through about 70% of Raw now.

No not really.
The only time those kinds of things even come close to my mind are usually in Hornswoggle segments.
Things can be targeted towards kids but still have some realism in them. Hornswoggle beating Chavo Guerrero 700 million times in a row, running threw magic holes in the wall, going under the ring to a magic midget land, etc. I feel none of that is necessary and is kind of a shot to the old intelligence.

It's insulting to my intelligence and their brand of comedy is embarrasing. It's why I stopped watching this year.
Aiming toward kids is a stupid move for a wrestling company. It's why their ratings will never get above a 4 and their PPV buy rates keep dropping. Usually it's a good idea for an entertianment company to do family friendly things with the idea you're selling twice as many tickets (parents have to come with them) but the problem with wrestling is that many parents, wether they think it's offensive or not, won't let their kids watch for one simple reason: it gets them riled up and they start wrestling! It's such an obvious thing that hardly ever gets brought up.

Embarrased? No.
Annoyed that is sucks? Yes.
I don't understand though why people are comparing this to the days of Hogan,Warrior, Savage WWF. It's not even remotely the same. Just because it's under the label of PG means nothing. They aren't comparable.
The angles were actually interesting at that time.
Besides I don't think Jake Roberts smacking a woman and Savage trying to stab Hulk Hogan...kid friendly at that time.

No, because when I watch Raw, I'm continually aware that what I'm watching is just a TV show that I can turn off and walk away from at any time. this

You mean like when Randy Orton methodically DDT'd Stephanie in front of her helpless husband?

As a said in another thread, Raw is insulting to any wrestling fan over 12.
And for the folks that sayin "oh relax, it just a tv show". I believe if you spent one dime on any WWE product , as a consumer, you have the right to complain.

I can't really bring myself to be insulted by a wrestling show, to be honest. Some of it is cringeworthy, but I'll still watch it.
It helps that RAW is on at 2am here, so normally I'm the only person watching it in my house. I don't have to try and justify Will Forte killing R-Truth to anybody.

At least WWE right now has the decency to have all their stupidest crap generally comedy based, since you're not supposed to take it serious. Less insulting to my intellegence that trying to play off Undertaker and Kane having magic powers, and being SERIOUS about it.
