So I know a lot of people are split on the whole TV-PG thing, and Raw being aimed at kids rather than everybody. So my question is are you insulted/embarrased by the WWE marketing strictly towards kids, or do you embrace the move and just hope for the best?

No, because when I watch Raw, I'm continually aware that what I'm watching is just a TV show that I can turn off and walk away from at any time.

What Throwback said, when it gets boring or stupid, which let's be honest is quite often, I just find something else to do.

I am insulted by RAW, which is why I haven't watched since after WM. I've also come to terms with the fact that all of my favorite wrestlers on RAW will be used to try to get over bland wrestlers who benefit from the buddy system.

I turn the channel and remember this fact: In 5 years, those kids in orange are gonna be teenagers, and they'll be on these forms whining about how much Raw sucks now and how great TWA with Hollywood Johnny Cena.

I'm fine with it now. While they say it's marketed toward kids, it's got NOTHING on the mid-90s. Doink, Duke the Dumpster, TL Hopper...that stuff was ridiculous. And I still watched virtually every week.

There is only one time in history where I was embarassed as I watched Raw, and it was during the Katie Vick casket humping thing. I used to live with a roommate who was not home that night, and I was praying that he would not walk in and catch me watching it.
I'm not embarrassed at Raw these days, since I don't watch it. I can't imagine it being worse than Katie Vick though.

I kind of agree with the general sentiment in this thread, although I'm far from a fan of the current direction, I don't feel its my place to be embarrassed by it.
Honestly since the conception of the guest host thing, and espcially since TNA now provide a viable, sometimes live, monday night alternative, I rarely watch Raw. I may watch the draft show, and I watch if they have an ex-wrestler guest host, but other than that I can do without. I think, as wrestling fans, we sometimes forget, RAW is just a tv show. For example, I used to watch Heroes, now I rarely do cause it kinda sucks. Surely if something is so bad it makes you feel insulted, or worse, embarrassed to be watching it its probably time to change the channel.

I love it.... It took the "shock tv" aspect and went back to simple wrestling. I fell in love with wrestling as a kid not the attitude era.
Nice to have you back pro wrestling!

If I was insulted or embarrassed I wouldn't watch. Also now we have an alternative on Monday nigths. Sick of Raw? Watch TNA. Sick of TNA? If you have HDnet watch ROH.
I actually don't mind the guest host idea as it in theory gives a greater exposure for the product.

Only when they do things like "Little People's Court" or blowing up R-Truth. Those come off just a bit embarrassing, yeah.

not so much insulted, more annoyed. but thank goodness we have DVR, if not for the fast forward ability i would not be able to watch Raw at all.
i still can't sit through a full episode, and probably won't be able to until the guest host thing goes away. to me it's more insulting having D list hosts than anything else.

I enjoy being a wrestling fan now and love the direction the WWE is going in. I became a fan during the Hogan/Warrior era of the late '80s/early '90s, and IMO, the WWE is getting back to how it's supposed to be.
Honestly, I was faaar more embarassed/insulted by the "shock TV" phase of the Attitude era. Saying you were a wrestling fan back then was akin to saying your favorite TV show was the Jerry Springer Show.
Granted, the Diva and guest host segments still bore me to tears, and I usually record and fast forward those parts. However, I really enjoy having less low-brow, cringeworthy "edgy"skits and more clear-cut faces and heels.

I do not feel embarrassed or insulted watching RAW, however I think my IQ drops about 50 points.
