I'm not being sarcastic, I absolutely love Smackdown right now. I think the direction they're going with it, is great. One of my favourite periods of wrestling ever, was Smackdown in 2002-2004. I remember getting up early every saturday morning, and watching it on Sky One. Good times... now, it looks to be back in that mode it was in, in 2004.
The show is just going to be exciting to watch, all of the matches and main eventers are fresh. And I'm very excited to see if MVP will finally bust into the main event now. I thought he was very badly held down and used on Raw and would never break out as long as Cena, Orton, Triple H and Batista were there. Now, there is no main eventers, and this may be his chance. Smackdown has always booked him better, they gave him character and depth and didn't make him into generic babyface #433. I wouldn't consider Rey Mysterio a main eventer, and The Undertaker is only there like half of the time. You may say Smackdown got screwed in the draft and while, in kayfabe terms, that is true. But this is what we've all been begging for - NEW main eventers, with NEW matches and NEW storylines. Let's compare the main eventers of both shows...
John Cena, Randy Orton, Triple H, Batista, Edge, and Chris Jericho. We've seen John Cena fight every single one of these guys, so many times, that it is just sickening to watch. I just don't think I can watch it anymore. The belt never really leaves Cena and when it does, it's always about him getting it back and not how long the new champion will hold it for. Nobody is breaking out on this show, with these 6 guys main eventing, non-stop. Sorry Sheamus, sorry Miz, and sorry Morrison. I made a promise to not watch that show until Sheamus gets his automatic rematch clause, and I'm sticking to it. Until they improve their booking, I just cannot watch.
Jack Swagger, Rey Mysterio, CM Punk, MVP, The Big Show, Christian, Kofi Kingston, and The Undertaker are Smackdown's main eventers. Yes, we've seen Swagger vs MVP. Yes, we've seen Swagger vs Christian, but not over the world title. Not in the big leagues. I'm sorry, Smackdown just looks alot more fresh and entertaining to me than Raw does. It has that "I don't know what will happen next" feel, where-as Raw has that "Ugh, ANOTHER month of this?" feel. And guest hosts... can't forget about the guest hosts.
Agree, or disagree? Smackdown is looking better than Raw at the moment?

Wow, Smackdown really needs a top heel.

Smackdown is awesome right now - I'm pleased.
I'm going to SD house show in about two weeks - I would have liked to have seen Edge & Jericho - but that's okay.
Such a fresh main event scene instead of the same old song and dance on RAW.

Wow, Smackdown really needs a top heel. Come on down, MVP. Turn him back into the heel he was in 2007 and he will be a main eventer in no time. Although, there may be a feud with Punk over the use of the term "better than you" afterwards.

Smackdown will be a fresh and better wrestling orientated show.
It's ratings will suffer however, and I can't help but think that without big names to elevate people on Smackdown, the average viewer might not take anyone built over their seriously when moved to or challenging a Raw main eventer though.
It'll all change come October when SD moves to SyFy, so make the most of the 'stale maineventer'less Smackdown because someone will turn up to squash all the up and comers once summer is over.

If Hornswoggle is not used, SD will be awesome.

I think it's worth bearing in mind that HHH will be gone a while, and Batista is apparently leaving too. That's two less main eventers on Raw, so it's not that stacked.
SD does look awesome, but I think it could've still done with one full-time marquee name on there, Orton being the obvious one.
Still, should be good.

This is why I wanted The Miz to move to SD and Drew to Raw, he's ready to move up and become a top heel like Jericho was for SD, and Drew has a very long way to go for that. There's Punk, but it seems titles aren't that important to him with SES going on, so he might not really be the "top" heel, and Swagger is getting there, but he's still a bit below Miz for me.

Drew, or, frankly, any unbuilt star moving to Raw = instant career suicide.
While I'd have loved to see Miz move to SD and get a main event push, at least he is an upper mid-carder who can actually hold his own against a Raw that will be dominated by the established main eventers from now on.

Smackdown is Straight Edge, which obviously means it's better than your favorite wrestling show. Seriously, if this Summer isn't the Summer of the Society, i riot.

If Hornswoggle is not used, SD will be awesome. But clearly if they use the midget, even if its only for a minute a week, it will be the worst wrestling show ever.

Drew, or, frankly, any unbuilt star moving to Raw = instant career suicide. While I'd have loved to see Miz move to SD and get a main event push, at least he is an upper mid-carder who can actually hold his own against a Raw that will be dominated by the established main eventers from now on. For heels it's quite good. Sheamus, Miz and Ted Dibiase will get their shots without a problem on Raw when/if Batista leaves. Sheamus already has. It's just for mid-card faces on Raw, because for some reason they seem afraid to move any of HHH, Cena or Orton. It's like they say 'We can't move Cena, he's the flagship of the company and we need him on the flagship show, we can't move Orton, he's our hottest act right now, and we can't move HHH, he's already done his stint' and so the fear of not being able to move either one of them means they just end up all on the same show. The problem for the mid-card faces on Raw is further compounded by Orton's face turn, and then adding Edge onto the show. Their simply is no space for any upward mobility on the face side on Raw. Maybe that's the idea, that Smackdown is going to be used to build stars, but it does suck for guys like Morrison and Truth to be asked to wait at least another year for any kind of elevation when they are already on the cusp. And even though Triple H is out, it doesn't really leave room for elevation. He will come back and take his space and then it puts whoever takes his place back in the mid-card for at least 9 months until the next draft. One of the reasons I wasn't worried about Kofi's brief elevation and subsequent demotion was because I knew he would move in the draft and they were just testing him. He just had to wait a couple of months to get out of it and get his opportunity, but lets say Morrison takes HHH's space, he's going to have to wait 9 to get another one. So yeah, for heels Raw isn't bad at all, it just seems that they absolutely refuse to move any one of their big 3 faces and this means we end up with all of them keeping the rest of the faces down.

How awesome is SD, right now? Without Morrison and Killings, it's going to get a lot less awesome. Morrison was always good for an excellent, high-flying match given away on TV. Killings I don't find to be as entertaining in the ring, but he definitely got the crowds warmed up. Thanks to these 2 men, Smackdown would usually have at least one good watchable midcard match each week. Both men are off the show and their absence will be very notable unless Christian wrestles in the midcard every week and Dolph goes tweener.

Wow, Smackdown really needs a top heel. Plus, yes I am psyched for Smackdown now. The potential feuds between the big 8- Taker, Rey, Punk, Swagger, Christian, Big Show, MVP, Kofi, are awesome and there should be some great matches and angles coming out of it. One, if not two, of Show, Christian, Kofi and MVP need to turn heel though to balance it out. I'd nominate MVP for one anyway. I only hope the ratings don't slide but with the move to SyFy and the fact that the brand's 2 top favourites, Taker and Rey, are still there, I have hope. Also, to adress Raw, I feel that a. Batista is done with the company, and b. Triple H is going to take much more of a backseat (hard to believe I know) for a while at least. That really just leaves Cena, Orton, Jericho and Edge as Raw's bonafide main eventers. There's plenty of room for guys like Sheamus, Miz, Morrison and others to step up PROVIDED THEY ARE BOOKED RIGHT.

Kofi is just as good as R-Truth and Christian has better matches than Morrison IMO. So they got a good trade. Plus they got MVP, who never has a bad match and has been having really good matches on Superstars. Due to the time Raw gives their matches (less than 5 most of the time), they can't really do anything spectacular. But yeah, MVP definitely shines on Superstars recently, check out his matches against Carlito and Jack Swagger there.
