I was watching the history of the IC title and started thinking about how the title belts have changed over the years.
I came to the conclusion that it was really hard for me to pinpoint when each title became new.
I remember when they changed the classic winged title to the attitude era title there was an in ring ceremony
I know for the U.S. title they changed it to the spinner for Cena then when he lost it they debuted the new one.
Mark Henry I believe debuted the new ECW title
The heavyweight title changed to the spinner for cena
what about some of the other ones though? who were the first wrestlers to wear the new belts and did they have an in ring ceremony for them?

Harley Race was given the new NWA domed globe belt in a in-ring ceremony before dropping it to Jack Brisco.
Hacksaw Duggan vacated the North American belt in a in-ring ceremony before the UWF world title tournament, and they unveiled the new Reggie Park's-made UWF belt. Paul Bousch carried it to the ring, still in the belt bag.
It's not aired on tv yet, but there will be a sort-of ceremony when they broadcast Eddie Edwards winning the ROH TV belt.

Hacksaw Duggan retiring the North American belt the night of the UWF championship tournament.
The first Memphis TV champion didn't get awarded a belt...he was awarded a tv set. But I think it deserves inclusion.

IIRC, the current Raw World Tag Title design made its debut at Survivor Series 2002, when Chris Jericho was wearing a new belt as he entered the Elimination Chamber, with no explanation.

That deserves an induction as one of the greatest things to ever happen in wrestling. I don't know why but something made me feel like and excited child over that.

Rob Van Dam was handed a $200 replica ECW Championship belt on the first episode of ECW on Sci Fi because the new belt wasn't finished yet.
Also, Jeff Jarrett lost the WCW US belt in a UK restaurant

Also, Jeff Jarrett lost the WCW US belt in a UK restaurant Is that why the belt suddenly changed a few weeks later? It suddenly showed up with a "blackwash" in the background.

I know for the U.S. title they changed it to the spinner for Cena then when he lost it they debuted the new one. Not quite. They had the "new" design for awhile before because it was held by Eddie and Big Show. It just changed back after Cena lost his spinner version. The new design debuted when they held the tourney to name the winner of the first WWF US Champ.

Ric Flair was given the Big Gold Belt on a episode of World Championship Wrestling by Mr. Crockett. Ironically, the belt was engraved "Rick Flair."
I have that episode. Flairs reaction to the belt is great as it's truly a belt fit for a real champion.

Yup, there was never any explanation for the new Tag Belts. I'd swear the new IC title debuted in late 97/Early 98 with the Rock after Austin threw the old belt into the river.

The Winged Eagle WWF title belt debuted at The Main Event in Feb. 1988, the night that would lead to the title being vacated. I read somewhere that it might have been intended to be introduced at WMIV but there was some kind of mixup.

I read somewhere that it might have been intended to be introduced at WMIV but there was some kind of mixup. It debuted that night despite Hogan being filmed wearing a completely different belt. Which isn't so bad if the interview didn't air right before the match.

The Rock took one look at the new belt, threw the old one to the ground, snatched up the new one and that was that.

The Rock took one look at the new belt, threw the old one to the ground, snatched up the new one and that was that. Halfway correct. That was Austin's reaction to the new, Attitude-era World Title. He took the old eagle-winged one that he won from Michaels the night before, looked at the new, giant circle Attitude belt, threw the old one down, and took the new one. Rock just had the new one in a backstage segment. It looked so small at the time... I really hated the new IC Title design, and still prefer the old "Mr. Perfect" design (which is what I'll call it, because it looked best on him.)

Ric Flair handed Triple H the new Undisputed Title in lieu of carrying the two World Title belts on the first raw of the Brand Extension.
The Outsiders debuted the new WCW Tag Team Title belts in an angle claiming they were the real champs instead of the Steiners.
