I don't follow basketball, but everything about this guy screams a ME FIRST!!!!!111//11 player, he's totally in it for himself and nothing more. Also I think that LeBron will be like the San Diego Chargers, they have all the talent every year but they can never get it done. If you want to argue he's me first as a person I can't argue that after tonight. But he just took 30 million less money, agreed to go to a place where he's 1/3 of the star power, and he has a great chance to help two of his friends win a title, as well as finally getting one for himself. What about that screams ME FIRST as a player? Again, unless you just mean as a human being, in which case ... yeah, seems that way.

If this is the nWo, then David Stern is obviously Bischoff That is true. I'd love to see him show up at every Heat game yelling, "I love you, people" with a shit eating grin on his face.

Most of the guys you mention (besides Kareem and Walton), were only as good as they were when they had a star playing next to them. Bosh, Wade, and James were already big name players before getting together. If you want to make that kind of comparison, I would choose the Celtics of recent years with Allen, Pierce, and Garnett. Even then, they got together when they were a bit older and not in their prime. That is my point though. They need each other. Jordan would have been nothing without people to take the stress off of him and they were nothing without Jordan (well, Rodman was alright but, always surrounded by talent when he was on top). Wade needed Shaq, Shaq need Wade and Kobe, Kobe needed Shaq and Odem, and so on. LeBron got Cleveland to the finals basically by himself but, he like every other person, needs help to get over the top. But they didn't win on their own, it is a team game and one or two people will not win championships alone for a team. Miami needs to get bench help, cause Miami won't be able to handle teams like the Magic and the Celtics if their bench is full of scrubs because three players are eating up all of the cap space.

"Yeah I got a huge new contract extension from Coca-Cola and Nike... oh wait you mean... yeah... totally..."

It'll be so fun seeing how many games Miami can win. They only have 6 freaking players right now. That's a starting line up and a one person bench.
Plus, who is to say that having all 3 of these guys on the same team is a good thing? They may be great friends in real life, but I just don't think their playing styles will mix together well. And considering all 3 are All-Stars, they will all be expecting the ball.
I'm sorry, as awesome on paper as Bosh-Wade-James is, this team is just doomed to fail. At the very least their first one or two years will be really rough. I'm not expecting any titles from this team until Year 3.

Honestly, I think he maxed that out on a bad team. On an actually good team, which he would be on with Warriors anyway, he wouldn't be an all-star. He doesn't play defense and his scoring is based on him only and not involving others. Warriors management just loves awful, awful contracts. In a year, they'll know they made a mistake and will trade him to the only place that wants a contract like that for a role player. Let's just say, he'll be Tyfo's fav player next.

A Facebook acquaintance of mine whom I had no idea was a wrestling fan just posted a status message comparing this to Hulk Hogan joining the NWO, complete with YouTube video. I think Bill Simmons started that on his Twitter, although he might have gotten it from someone else. I loved the analogy even though I have very little interest in basketball given 7th July is the 14th anniversary of Hogan's turn at Bash at the Beach.

I don't think Miami will win it all the first year, but watch out in the 2011-2012 season, when they get the mid-level exception back.

Over/under on number of Heat games that will be on ESPN, ABC, and TNT? We might break a record here.

I'm dreading the inevitable Heat-Lakers finals. Who do I root for in that one?

I remember reading in Bill Simmons' column about how much chemistry they developed playing in the Olympics. But when Spain was starting to beat them in the Gold Medal game, none of them would volunteer to take over the game for fear of stepping on each other's toes. Then someone did take over...his name was Kobe.

I honestly hope somebody gets to work Photoshopping the Triforce into various nWo situations. Hell, make an nWo knock-off shirt, only with mIa. It'll sell millions!

He totally is. But until he's accused of rape or gets arrested half a dozen times, I just don't care. Dude's ego probably is the size of Cleveland, but I've seen no reason to think he's a bad guy. While he isnt a criminal, dicking over several other franchises in order to create a circus where people fawn over him, then arranging an hour long setup in order to blow himself, yeah....in my eyes, he's a bad guy
