Finally just got round to watching this film and, damn, am I blown away by it. Very artistic and well directed, some great imagery, a gripping story, and fantastic action sequences you don't really see anywhere else.
What are your thoughts on this film?
And please, lets try and keep ol' Mel's personal problems out of this discussion.

I didnt watch the movie, i basically stared at the screen for two hours... you knew it was going to be a story of redemption and revenge to some point, the end threw it for a loop... excellent movie in my eyes.

Great movie from a fantastic director with unrelated personal issues.

Really great movie, doesn't get the praise it deserves as the director ie- Mel Gibson had very bad press at the time and still does. Too bad Mel Gibson has to be utterly insane as he is very good. Couldn't even bring myself to watch The Passion of the Christ because the clips I saw looked like painful really long adaptation of a BDSM fan fic. However Braveheart was amazing.

I'm actually about to watch it for the first time.
Hopefully, this won't be a waste.
