Lately I've been thinking about buying and getting into TF2 (I know I know, I'm a bit late to the party) because it looks like a lot of fun. Now my patience and love for FPSs aren't all that high, I enjoy the Halo gameplay but really don't like the Call of Duty gameplay, mainly due to how long and how many shots you can take before you die. I hate respawning and then quickly dying after about 2 or 3 shots (CoD), but I can enjoy a FPS if I have some sort of a health bar or a lot of life (Halo/Gears of War) for a chance of survival.
So taking that into account, for all the 'Crappers here who have played/play TF2, is it as fun as it looks? It's only like 10 bucks in the nearest Best Buy from me, so I definitely won't mind giving it a try IF the life system isn't like CoD.

Yes. It's nothing like Call of Duty.

It's worth it. It's very worth it.

It's a really great team based FPS.
It'll take some practice and some major Spy checking, but once you get the hang of things, it's really fun. Plus updates and maps are FREE.
I thin my favorite thing about the game and what sold me on it in the first place is how each class character has a distinct look and personality as opposed to being "generic soldier # 512".
Oh, and the life system is DEFINITELY not like Cod.

Respawn deaths are impossible. Both Teams spawn points cannot be reached by members of the opposite team.

The only bad thing I can think about TF2 is it's terrible drop system.
Besides that, everything is gravy.

Respawn deaths are impossible. Both Teams spawn points cannot be reached by members of the opposite team. ...in TF2? That's real good to know then. If you were referring to CoD, then I'm afraid you're wrong. It happened to me the majority of the time, which is what pissed me off, sold the game, and made me regret wasting the 60 bucks to buy it.

I think I've only gotten 2 hats from random drops(Engy's miner hat and Heavy's Hound Dog wig. The hound dog's a keeper.) Thank God for crafting, though.

In the Xbox version there is a bug that allows Red team to enter Blue teams spawn on 2fort if they leave the door open.
Speaking of which, get it for the PC if you can. Xbox and PS3 don't get the updates and bug fixes.
Also, "SPEH IS SEPPIN MEH SENTREH!!!"

Oh, yeah, I'm just saying that it CAN happen. Nine times out of ten when it does, though, it's because the team getting spawn killed is so lousy that they basically let the other team take over their base.
