Only one man can fill the void... SAMSON THE GARBARIAN! Agreed. and if anyone thinks that he is going to TNA they are out of their mind.

Damn. When I saw this, I couldn't beleive it, but it was for real.
But with all his problems, it's understandable.
You'll probably come back, but for now.
Thanks, Angle.

Dude... just, dude. I can't believe this. I thought for sure that this was a hoax when I read the thread title. I guess it's for his own good, because he'd just keep getting hurt if he continued on at his pace. I hope he comes back in a non-wrestling role. Also, one last farewell match, maybe against Benoit, would definetly be a mark out moment for me.

That surprised the hell out of me when I saw the title. He's too good for his last TV appearance to be a punkout by Basham Security and then led out in cuffs.
I hope he can get all of his problems sorted out and get his health back. He needs to have that classic final match.

So much for an Angle DVD... Seriously though, I'm shocked. Hopefully, this is to help him clear up some personal problems.

Well am shocked and am not shocked.
I think he is doing this for his family because he couldn't go on the way he was or he would have ended up dead or in a wheelchair.
It's sad that it has to end this way but to be honset it's better for him.

I just hope Kurt doesn't go nuts from not wrestling. The guy lives and breathes the lifestyle and its not going to be easy for him to adjust not being in the ring. But I can see lots of storyline opportunities for him, as a commentator, GM, whatever. Kurt Angle is such a big deal that I honestly think whatever non-wrestling role he takes will completely re-define what TV talent can do outside the ring. with that said, he should go to ovw and train the new guys.

But given the ever increasing problems with his neck I don't think that such a thing is possible, unfortunately.

I think it was either wish him the best in his future endeavors, or the guy would kill himself. He would not quit for anything.

Sadly, I bet that TNA will contact him before the weekend is even over. I really hope that this was Kurt's decision and that them saying "he was granted" a release (implying that he asked for it) isn't a work. If it is, Kurt would probably wrestle elsewhere, something he just shouldn't be doing. The man has absolutely nothing left to prove, and his neck is about as sturdy as a house built by the 3 Stooges; he needs to quit before he seriously F's himself up.
Sure, it sucks that we're losing a great worker and performer, but Angle has done way more than his duty. I can only thank him for all he did, especially his feud with Benoit, one of the very few reasons to watch WWE in 2002-03. And I hope that he can regain some of his health and patch things up with his wife. With that said, bring on the DVD set.
P.S. It isn't the painkillers. Angle's a big enough star that he wouldn't be let go just for that, wellness policy or not.
