I just started watching this, and it's pretty good. Looks like the people who are in charge of the DCAU did another excellent job. Anyone else see this yet?

And that show is way under appreciated, it was a hell of a lot of fun.

/\ ah.
I'd also like to say that this movie did more to make me care about Jason Todd post-resurrection than everything written about him in the comics combined. I can't believe I;m typing this but Judd Winnick has a much better handle on Jason than Grant Morrison does. Morrison wrote him as another generic gun-toting loony anti-Batman. I think I like him better as a sympathetic character.

The movie was awesome. Best DC Animated film since Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker or even Batman Mask of the Phantasm. What impressed me was the depth of the story as in most of these movies the plot is completely secondary but they did an awesome job and tell a phenomenal story and really bring you in to the story of Jason Todd. Honestly going into this I wasn't expecting much. I always thought of Jason Todd being lame and hating him as Robin, although I felt the death of him was absurd and horrible decisoin instead of trying to fix him they killed him in a terrible way. Also I never read the Under the Hood storyline which this is based on but from it didn't interest me. However the way they told the story of Jason Todd made me gain appetaiaton for him and think of him as a character with vast potential if written well.
Sort of a shame this was released on DVD when so much crap is in theaters lately. Really felt very bad for Jason Todd as he was completely brutalized in this movie and sadly is still a bitter kid who will never get over being killed by the Joker, which he shouldn't as it was completely awful and honestly he was basically manipulated by Batman to be his soldier.
Joker was awesome! Sort of a mix of Mark Hamil's Batman from the animated series mixed with the Joker from the Dark Knight and he had Hamil's funny sad with Ledger's sick, twisted sociopath/psychopathic demeanor which you needed as he needed to be funny while having make sense that he's bash Jason Todd's brains in and I feel they accomplished that. Batman was alright not amazing, too similar to the animated series and was not a huge fan of the Black Mask at all and thought they could have done more with him than just yelling random sentences looking like an utter moron which begs the question of how did he unite the entire Gotham City Underworld? Also not a huge fan of the ending but understood why they went there and made sense to Todd's rationale for what he was doing so it wasn't bad, but came off as too much of whining and poor me sentiments from Todd. But all in all a great, fun movie with a very deep plot with little cliques which is very, very rare in superhero animated features, great job by DC Animation. Hopefully they could keep this quality of work with Batman Year One and All Star Superman.

Like someone else mentioned earlier, this is probably the best animated Batman film since Return of the Joker (funny how both heavily involved Robin). It was almost like the DCAU's version of The Dark Knight as far as story telling, I felt extremely sympathetic towards Jason by the end of the film, which the very ending of the film felt almost tragic (the flashback). Just the way it ended made me feel extremely bad for both Bruce and Jason, just so much emotion. Well f***ing done. Oh, and this Joker was probably the best Joker I've witnessed in a long time. He was the PERFECT mix of Hamill's Joker and Ledger's Joker. I can't even describe it in words, you're just going to have to watch it to see what I mean. Oh yeah, and NPH rocked it as Nightwing. ;D Just a great f***ing film all around. I suddenly have a big interest in Jason's "Red Hood" persona now.

It was a very impressive effort. Great story, mature mood and could have worked as a live action film. If only DC and Warner treated Superman with the same amount of respect!

Dimaggio as the Joker was a LOT better than I honestly expected, and really, if Arkham Asylum 2 is Hamill's last rodeo as The Joker, I think that the DCAU and all the other versions of an animated Joker have found a worthy successor in Dimaggio. The guy was amazing.

DiMaggio is getting alot of love for his Joker, and it sure was a good version after the first ten minutes. His voice when he was doing the beating on Jason was too deep, and there was a bit of Bender coming through in places. After that bit though, it was great, it wasn't Hamill, but it was great.
The new origin/reason for return for of Jason was also so much better here than Superboy Prime punches reality.
