I know we have a lot of Misfits fans on the board, and I'm one of them, so I was just sorta wondering if anyone feels one way or the other about their Japanese equivalent Balzac. They've toured together and have collaborated together, but if you're reading this you probably know that already.
So uh here's my favorite song of theirs:
After giving a few albums a listen, they do have the horrorpunk thing down. Just y'know...in Japanese.

I've heard a few of their Misfits covers, including the split single from a few years ago, and maybe a couple of their own songs. I think I could dig them if I sat down and listened enough to get accustomed to the singing. I don't even mean the Japanese, it ends up sounding odd when he sings in English because, obviously, it's not his natural language.
I think I have a poster around here of Balzac and Jerry that is autographed by everybody. I got it from Jerry & Doyle's brother, Rocky, for like $7.

Yeah, I respect that they want to pay homage to the bands that inspired them through the occaisional cover, but Hirosuke should not sing in English. ...ever. They're much better when they're singing in their own language. Like their cover of Ziggy Stardust, there's nothing wrong with the musical ability there, it's just...yeeeeah, the way the lyrics are delivered kinda takes ya out of it.

I thought this was about those inflatable balls from the early-mid nineties.

i have 2 of their albums. i enjoy both of them alot. they have a really really good horror punk thing going. and are all pretty damn talented. i do enjoy the day the earth caught fire i know the misfits covered it, but its such a cool song and i like the riff in it.

I like their cover of "The Haunting/Don't Open Till Doomsday". I think it's cute. These two songs, in particular, are some of my favorites...

Balzac are pretty awesome. I don't keep track of them but I do have a couple of their albums.

"Balzac" "Now Marge, there's no need for bad language just because you can't think of any" Aww, beat me to it. I love that line. Especially when you think that Marge saying "ball sack" as an exclamation is just weird!
