Day 11: Matt HardyEvery day, I'll post a wrestler who has never won the WWE Championship and we'll vote on whether or not he deserved to win the belt during his time there. When we run out of interesting people, we'll have a battle royal with all of the people who got more yes votes than no votes! In your voting, consider whether or not it would have been wise to put the belt on the worker at the time of his run, not just whether or not he was a worthy champion. For example, Jake Roberts would have no doubt been a great champion, but was it smart to put the belt on him at the height of Hulkamania? That's up for discussion. Past Results:-Day 1: Mr. Perfect (Yes: 24, No: 11) -Day 2: Raven (Yes: 6, No: 18) -Day 3: Razor Ramon (Yes: 15, No: 14) -Day 4: The Hurricane (Yes: 3, No: 24) -Day 5: Dusty Rhodes (Yes: 5, No: 14) -Day 6: Brian Pillman (Yes: 5, No: 19) -Day 7: Ken Shamrock (Yes: 15, No: 8) -Day 8: Kerry Von Eric (Yes: 4, No: 12) -Day 9: Paul Orndorff (Yes: 8, No: 10) -Day 10: Jimmy Snuka (Yes: 4, No: 15)

If he did it was 5 years ago and I still dont think so. Maybe if they got behind him and had him win a KOTR or a Rumble but no

No, he blew it with his terrible promo after returning to confront Edge. The only things I enjoyed from him since then are the MVP feud/partnership and the Hardy Boy reunions.

You know what, back in the dark days of 2007 when Smackdown had pretty much 5 guys on the whole roster and Khali was champ (shudder) I would have happily bought Matt Hardy as champion. He was one of their most consistently over faces at that point but they didn't do anything interesting with him until the MVP feud.
It seems weird saying that now, in the era of Fat Hardy and his creepy Youtube videos, but I think a few years ago he would have made a believable short-term champ on Smackdown given the right push.
