this movie looks TERRIBLE. steve carrell is so typecast in everything he does it kills me. i am disappointed in paul rudd for getting involved in this. he is better than this. Not for nothing, but Paul essentially plays the same role in a lot of his movies. Though he's the best actor in the movie, thats like saying its the least rotten apple in the bushel.

Every time this commercial comes on I can't help but think Steve Carrell might be in huge danger of being over-exposed. I'm not a fan or a hater of the guy one way or the other but lately I'm getting sick of him being on my TV every time I turn around.

I am a huge Paul Rudd fan. I generally like Steve Carrell
That being said, it was just plain awful. One of the worst movies of the year.
And to the poster that thought Carrell be playing the character from Anchorman for 90 min, you were close. He plays a similar guy,but this character is absolutely not redeemable at all.

Movie was OK, but incredibly frustrating had they gone all the way in as either an absurd Will Ferrel style film, or a pulled back conventional 'Meet the Parents' style comedy. It didn't know what it was doing. Here's my full review - popularopinions.wordpress.com/2010/07/29/schmucks/

RUDD!!! Damn your sexy ways. Ha! Thats awesome! Reminds me of that SNL episode he hosted years ago, when he was promoting Role Models, I think. Anyway it was awesome and had to be the gayest episode ever, but in a good way. Probably one of the best since the early ninties and definately the best episode of the most recent cast. I wonder why he can't be more like that in his movies because he's kind of weak as a straight man. He should be more like he was in Wet Hot American Summer, some awesome lines in that like : "UGGH! You taste like a hamburger! I don't like you anymore! also he was pretty funny in his Delocated cameo. So I'd wish Paul Rudd would do something different because his current act is getting stale and has proven he could be funny instead of being the set-up guy.

Just saw it tonight, and, all I'll say is it is ostensibly Steve Carrell as Brick Tamland with glasses & Paul Rudd for 2 hours, but fans of that (myself included) will love it.

Just saw it last night. I enjoyed it. Not my favorite Rudd movie by far, but it was a decent comedy. Loved Jemaine's parts.
My only complaint was it was a little too matter of fact. One too many "walk in behind the person while he's saying something good/bad about you".
Oh and Carrell's stupidity in this movie makes you want to push him in front of a bus. Other than that, I thought it was pretty good.
