I'm with you. Seeing Ice Cube in family movies, Ice T as a FREAKING COP on TV, and Dr. Dre doing Dr. Pepper commercials makes me sad. And the less said about Flava Flav at this point, the better. Seriously, someone should get the spray paint and color Ice Cube white. Ice T also plays a cop, but at least he is badass with it. As for the topic, I do miss gangsta rap. Where the hell is the rappers from Compton and Long Beach? Westside!

I really don't understand all the Ice Cube hate. He still makes great music AND is able to get easy money making corny movies. What's the problem?

I'm not hatin' on Cube. In fact, I admire him. Who else could pull that off?

I happen to love gangsta rap--it gets me just as pumped as any heavy metal.

I'm not hatin' on Cube. In fact, I admire him. Who else could pull that off? I agree. There is something called growing up. He has family now. Quite a few other actors and musicians have went that route, making stuff their children could see. Ice Cube can still make some hard hitting music and does quite a bit of guest appearances. But honestly, him continuing to release gangsta music would likely just be a bit ridiculous. He's a multi-millionaire throug legit means.

I'm not a huge rap fan, but these guys (especially in their old days) had the most unique style:

I don't care per se if Ice Cube isn't making hardcore homie g albums again, but crap like Are We There Yet is just surreal.

In the interest of full disclosure, I feel I should mention that with the exception of Friday I have not seen any of Cube's movies.

Not like I should care, but N.W.A. and his first few albums from his solo career were a bit part of my entry into hip-hop. So I guess I get a little testy haha

Yeah seeing Ice T on CSI is hilarious and sad all at once. Also who else thinks Snoop Dogg has gotten kind of weak lately? I mean, I know the dude can't be a 20 year old badass rapper forever, but seeing him with f***ing CGI Gummy Bears in Katy Perry's video is sort of weird. Snoop Dogg began to change when he dropped Doggy from his name.
