I just watched Robert Rodriguez's El Mariachi for the first time, and I gotta say, for an action movie made on $7000, it was pretty awesome.
What are the favorite independent films of the Wrestlecrap boards?
I'm also a huge fan of Kevin Smith and most of his films, and my favorite will always be the original Clerks. (Which by the way, I just watched the original ending for the first time a couple days ago, that was dark.)

In The Company Of Men.
For those of you who are Aaron Eckhart fans, you need to see this. After I saw this, he made me a fan for life. He plays such a nasty son of a bitch in it. He'll make your skin crawl.
Bon Cop, Bad Cop
A buddy cop movie about two cops - one French Canadian, the other English Canadian who have to work on a murder case involving someone who is killing big-time hockey people. There is a really great Gary Bettman parody in this. You kind of have to be Canadian to really appreciate this though I think.

Living In Oblivion, Clerks, Brick and of course, Night of the Living Dead, immediately come to mind.

Clerks, The Vicious Kind, Rudi y Cursi. I am sure there are more, but that's all I can think of right now.

Reservoir Dogs. Although, to be fair, it was a $1.5 million indie film thanks to Keitel.

My personal Top 5
Black Dynamite: It rules... that simple
Party Monster: A board favorite it seems, but it's a good story being told
Cube and SAW:Two great horror movie that both became series, with less impressive sequels than the originals.
An American Crime: Sure, it might be a made for TV movie, even though it was intended for straight to DVD, but if you thought as Catherine Keener as the woman from the 40 Year Old Virgin and Ellen Page and Juno, this movie will change that.

Primer is a pretty solid indie flick. Christopher Nolan's first film Following is really good for 7,000 dollar budget.

I do get confused about what exactly constitutes and indie film but I think these are; Memento, This is England, Let the right one in and The Wrestler.

Not yet mentioned:
Bubba Ho-Tep - As strange as it is, this film is probably why I wanted to get into filmmaking
Napolean Dynamite - Screw the people who turned on this one, this movie's f***ing genius
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles - Technically, it was and indie feature
Already mentioned:
Night of the Living Dead The Toxic Avenger Clerks Cube The Wrestler

Death of a President is an underrated one, it's pretty bizarre yet nicely done.
Did I mention it's probably the first ever SERIOUS mockumentary?

Napolean Dynamite - Screw the people who turned on this one, this movie's f***ing genius [ Pretty much agree with you here. Aside from the one's mentioned here I would also add the original Halloween and Mad Max.
