Well, it's true (as per Gerweck):
China Broadband Inc, a provider of cable broadband services and publisher of digital and analog program guides in the Shandong Province of China, has announced that former WWE executive Shane McMahon has been appointed as the company’s new Chief Executive Officer.
Marc Urbach, President of China Broadband, added,
“Mr. McMahon has been appointed Chief Executive Officer and we are honored to have one of the most seasoned veterans of PPV and premium sports entertainment in the world join the China Broadband team. His highly skilled background in marketing and promotion will be instrumental in moving us forward. In addition we look forward to working with some of the most prestigious and established media companies in China to advance the development of a sophisticated content platform. With the acquisition of Sinotop, our goal is to become the leading provider of VOD and PPV services in China.”
I'm a little shocked that this is his first big foray out of the McMahon family tree, but nonetheless am glad for him.

I'm happy that he's moved on to greener pastures, but damn, that's random.

And currently, WWE is trying to expand into China. Coincidence?
Probably, but wrestling conspiracy theorists that think Vince secretly owns TNA or that Russo secretly works for him will have a field day with this.

And currently, WWE is trying to expand into China. Coincidence? That was actually my first thought. Either way good for him to make that money.

He's also invested in a sports agency company, which suggests to me he's just trying to invest outside wrestling and be 'the McMahon that got away'.

China Broadband executive: "Mr Mcmahon, WWE's record of human rights and freedom of speech abuses are numerous and concerning. We are very impressed"

And currently, WWE is trying to expand into China. Coincidence? Not likely, first thing I thought of was WWE and UFC. Both have a good relationship with Shane, and both are currently trying to make large expansions into China. I definitely think this will help both

Plus, you know, everyone wants to get into Asia right now, especially China and India.
