I've probably blabbed about this before, but with as much backstory and time Kojima-san and friends are investing into the Metal Gear series' past, I'd really love to see certain events re-visited with a modern technology twist. Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake was only on the MSX2 and I think was also playable on Subsistence. I may be wrong there. But none the less, the story is one of the less ridiculous ones of the Metal Gear'verse and would be something that I could envision reading about in the paper tomorrow and being like "Damn."
Also it covers a lot more about Gray Fox. Well...er, he's there...at least. And that's cool. Everybody likes Gray Fox.
It covers an oil crisis and a nuclear arms race. Which sounds familiar.
So yeah, here's the intro. Enjoy it and stuff. Agree with me. Or don't.
I feel bad for that version of Solid Snake, as his model was based on Mel Gibson. Yikes.
I'll take Kyle Reese Snake, Old Snake, Naked Snake or regular old Snake over Mel-Snake any day.

Have you ever played it as part of the bonus material of MGS3: Subsistence? Besides having a fully polished version of Snake Eater, Subsistence also has the original MSX version of both the first Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2. That's worth the price of the game on its own.
And it could be neat to possibly see updated versions of both the original Metal Gear games. Maybe take the same settings and basic stories of the old games, but with present-day graphics, acting, and everything familiar with the Solid series. It would be great to see that bridging of old and new, while also adding in the necessary plot elements in those stories to tie them in to things like the Patriots, The Boss, and so on.

I still have the regular version of Snake Eater sadly, so I've never played the port they stuck on as a bonus. But I'd really like to. But yeah, that's the gist of what I want. Same plot and game and all, just have it play the way the Metal Gear games play now. I keep crossing my fingers that maybe someday they will do this, but tragically it seems about as likely as a port of Snatcher to the DS. MG2: Solid Snake, to me, is the true "missing" part of the mythos. I know that Peace Walker was called that, and I'm not knocking it at all, but honestly all I've ever heard of the events of Metal Gear 2 were a brief reference to the Zanzibar Land Uprising in the first Solid. It's been so long that if it was referenced in 2, or 4, that I don't recall it.

I think the only real reference to it in 4 was the fact that "Dr. Madnar" was the one who put Raiden back together after whatever the hell the Patriots did to him. Having played it long after MGS, I've always felt like missing out what happened to Fox lessened how sad the whole Cyborg Ninja deal is. He was crushed by guilt over accidentally killing someone he was in love with and felt like he'd finally get to be with her, but ended up as a sword wielding psychopath. Wish they'd acknowledged it.
