Would Jimmy Wang Yang, the "Asian redneck", be considered? I know he never inducts current angles/gimmicks, but would this qualify?

Somehow I don't think so. JWY is actually pretty over. If the crowd enjoys it, I don't think it can be considered Wrestlecrap.

Yeah, I think the character has actually lasted a lot longer than most of us would have predicted. Definitely seemed like wrestlecrap at first, but somehow it worked and got Akio more over than he'd ever been previously.

What about his early days? Could they be considered? It's like the Rock being inducted for his days as the Blue Chipper, but that was certainly a different character from his Peoples' Champion.

Somehow I don't think so. JWY is actually pretty over. If the crowd enjoys it, I don't think it can be considered Wrestlecrap. Chainsaw Charlie, Dink the Clown, Double J, Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat, IRS, among others were over to a certain extent, and they've been inducted. The crowd doesn't decide what's crap or not, RD does.

Its a tough call. If Undertaker initially had no reaction by the crowd, that gimmick would have easily been inducted. I realize Jimmy Wang Yang is no Undertaker but crowd reaction does factor in whether a gimmick is considered wrestlecrap.

If Jimmy Wang Yang is so over, why didn't the WWE give him a push? I don't know if I would, but putting a cowboy hat on an Asian just seems like a cheap move for the writers to mildly amuse themselves.

Now that was over! I'm not even getting into the IRS debate.... Double J? ? Yeah, he was over

During the Dink years, it seemed everyone was over to me lol,
I think JWY on paper is wrestlecrap, but when played out it's actually been fun to watch and came across well to the fans.
