I keep reading these threads on who should be inducted into the hall of fame, and one name that always seems to get left out is Jake Roberts. I just finished watching the documentary portion of his DVD for the second time and at the end, Vince says that Jake is a no doubt hall of famer.
So that begs the question of will he be inducted this year? I really hope he is, as his induction speech would be great. Anyone else have any thoughts on Jake as a HOF.

I'd love to see Jake in the HOF but, in my opinion, not until he's fully clean and able to actually work (such as a road agent for the 'E or something) because at this point you have to give a reason for him to get clean, and one of the big things he always talked about was getting into wrestling to spite his father and become better... Well, the HOF would make him most definitely better than his father (as if he wasn't already)...

There is no question as to Jake being a HOF'er. It's just a matter of Vince picking and choosing who he wants to go in during certain years so some don't outshine others. For example, any big names like Dibiase or Roberts would have likely been overshadowed due to Bret's induction.
He needs to go in soon so he is able to accept the "honor" for himself.

Id rather he be cleaned up when he goes in, make that some sort of requirement or something. After just puting Eddie in last year, it would seem hypocritical. IMO.

That's kind of what I was thinking with regards to getting him inducted while he can still accept the honors in person, so to speak.
I realize that he needs to get himself cleaned up but don't you think that if Vince helped him with that, and then inducted him into the hall of fame and hired him as a a producer, he would get a lot out of Jake. They would finally have one of the best minds in the business working for them in a clean state.

I say yes, clean or not. Jake is, to me, one of the top 5 names of the 80's, along with Hogan, Warrior, Macho, and Flair.

Jake definately needs to get in eventually, though I think Savage needs to come first.

Considering how almost everybody last year had a field day at the open bar before they hit the stage, I fear for the night Jake Roberts gets inducted.
