Actually I find this quite interesting. This gimmick didn't work in THIS angle but later it would work for the NWO angle for him being heel. You could see some of Hollywood Hogan in this but uncomplete.
This is like proto-type Hollywood Hogan.
Honestly knowing what I know happened later I could say maybe that WCW was on the right track. Just had to ditch the face act.

I bet they were trying to tap into the bad guy face gimmick but they were like a year or two ahead of that trend. Until today I didn't even know he did this gimmick. I was surprised. I always wondered why he wore black for a little while back in 95.

Why did he say that Paul Wight was Andre's son?

Why did he say that Paul Wight was Andre's son? I believe WCW was trying to portray The Giant as Andre's son in 1995. I vaguely remember Schiavone mentioning it on air and you could hear Heenan almost laughing when it was said.

They did a bit prior to the Giants debut where someone gave Hogan a huge shirt that he remembered belonging to Andre. It doesn't sound that stupid when typed but believe me, it was.

Me too. I liked how during those 3 hours there'd be like 20 matches, and even if you watched regularly you'd see all these angles that you didn't know about. It wasn't boring, at least.

I loved the 3 hour Nitro telecasts. They were booked to perfection in my eyes. Couple jobber matches, interview, then "big match" at the end of each hour. Something for everybody...
If only every show didn't end with a nWo beatdown...

Thank God Hogan eventually learned how to pull off a heel promo, that was horrible!

Thank God Hogan eventually learned how to pull off a heel promo, that was horrible! I don't think this was supposed to be a full fledged heel promo. More of an Anti-hero promo (Although it was still pretty bad)

Actually Kevin Sullivan was responsible for the moostache getting hacked off. Hogan took a s*** kicking and they cut it off.
I think. Somebody in DOD did it.

It was Sullivan getting the mustache shaved off Hogan.
Also, I liked the contunity in this when Hogan turned heel at the Bash, the next night Sting said he should've seen it when he did this brief stint as a heel and called Luger/Sting/Savage dogs.

Not only did this guy compare his mustache to the Washington Monument, he also referred to himself in the same breath as Gorgeous George. I know Hogan is the biggest name ever in modern wrestling, but that is arrogant.

I know Hogan is the biggest name ever in modern wrestling, but that is arrogant. Um, it's just a promo. I've never heard him say that on any interview he's done outside the ring. It's funny how people take these things at face value. Besides at this point in time, he was heeling it up, so he could say things like that.

Oh yes the ol' Dungeon of Doom storyline. An angle so bad it probably provided RD with enough source material for a whole year's worth of articles.
