So, does anyone remember, back on WWF Weekend TV in early 1992, when Mike McGuirk would make this announcement sometime after one of Shawn's matches? I was told it was something they used to say about Elvis. Beyond that, I never understood it at all.

Michaels wrote in his book that he would request the announcers to do the "Shawn Michaels has left the building" bit during the WWF shows in the South to get heat from the fans.

Yeah, they used to do it for Elvis because everyone would expect him to keep coming back out for encores, and he had some really hot crowds. They were basically saying, "he's not coming back out. Go home, dammit!" That's why it would make sense to have HBK do that in the south, because it was still Elvis country.
