I like Arnold's reviews, but he trashes Hogan and then TRASHES RD!?!?!?!?!? I mean, sure the stuff was bad and I've only watched 1/3rd of it -- but who CAN'T WORSHIP THE IDEA of a DRUNK RD REYNOLDS singing "HAPPY BIRTHDAY"
Oh and just seeing heel RD walking into PWI with the POSTER rolled up was classic. "THANKS UNCLE BERT!"

I take those reviews with a grain of salt. Every time I feel down, all I have to do is see Mike Samples get run over by a Nissan 300ZX in a middle school gym, and everything feels right again. Heel RD announcing is better than a lot of crappy announcers (yes, I am looking at you Mr. D. West and Michael Cole) of today bah gawd!

While I have not watched the DVD yet (I'm hoping it's a Christmas present) I am not expecting 800* matches or high brow concepts. The DVD IS called "THE WORST OF RD REYNOLDS" for crying out loud. When the word "WORST" is in the title and it's produced by something with "CRAP" in the title, what do you expect to see?

I got Stone Cold Steve Austin and Mick Foley DVD's for christmas one year. Neither of them were official WWF stuff, but it was from their old days before WWF or WCW. Steve actually wrestled The Undertaker looooooooong before he ever became the dead man...and he also feuded with Jeff Jarret for a while. Mick's was...kinda blah...and I didn't care for it at all, even though I love the man and his two wrestling biography books.
RD's DVD had absolutely no one I'd even heard of, and the Deal himself is something of a mystery to me...and yet I absolutely loved his DVD, far better than Mick's, and just as much as Austins....maybe more so. First, I just genuinely like Mr. Reynolds. Something deep down inside me says, if we ever met face to face, we'd really end up as friends. I feel the same about Mr. Breakstown/Braxton the Impaler. Also, I admit that I've always been a fair weather wrestling fan. I only ever watched the big two, and never even realized that there was an "independant circut" or even wrestling that WWF and WCW wasn't directly in control of. It was nice to see a tiny little promotion like PWI (which, to me, is practically local...as I'm in Ohio, and they did a bunch of stuff in Columbus.) try to entertain people. Some of the characters sort of took me back, and...maybe had things been different, even a putz like Major Nelson could have been the second Sergent Slaughter.
I dunno, I loved the DVD, and I really have to recommend it to anyone who's thinking about making the purcahse. Not just because I want to kiss RD's ass or anythng, but because I really think it's a fun little DVD that any of you who feel like I do would enjoy.

Damn, I write for 411 sometimes (mostly in the Movies/TV Section though), wish I'd have come up with the idea of reviewing the Worst of RD DVD. It would have been much less scathing, plus it would have covered the Revenge of the Black Scorpion, which Furious' review missed!

yeah, this is called the worst of RD. RD wasn't trying to put out a great DVD(great as in like a great documentry, like a Hart of Jake one). He was doing what his FANS wanted(despite teh reviewer saying this DVD had no audience). Maybe, I'm just bitter(and drunk).

Well, Furious himself is a fan of 'Death of WCW' and of Wrestlecrap. It doesn't mean that he has to like the DVD: if it's full of horrible matches, booking and angles and is advertised as such, it's reasonable to say "this isn't very good" and "this will have a small target audience".

Arnold took the dvd too seriously and was too hard on it. Sometimes you need to take a break from the "big leagues" and watch the crappy indy stuff for some laughs and RD's dvd supplied them. AND HE DIDN'T REVIEW REVENGE OF THE SCORPION!!! WHAT GIVES??!!

True, but like I said up thread. when you have a DVD titled WRESTLE CRAP PRESENTS THE WORST OF... you can't be expecting the CITIZEN KANE of wrestling DVDs. He seemed to review this the same way many movie critics review children's movies, putting it on a high standard. I'm far from knocking the DVD, I am hoping that Santa (without muscles) delivers it to my home this Yule time

Liked enough of the disc, wish it had a little more. Loved the Burt Reynolds Dinner Theater part and of course Mike Samples getting hit by the car is worth the what was it $8? alone for this disc. The quality in some parts is poor and the set up is very indy meaning no pyros or titan tron juyst some bangles and curtains to disguise parts of the buildings they are in. Blades Revenge of the Scorpion movie is great as well.

Hadn't seen that, but it's very funny. I remember Vince over at F4W reviewed it and couldn't make it through the first disc!

Well worth the money just for hearing the straight-man announcer shilling some local outfit that makes wrestling boots, hearing RD talking about Sergeant character going apes**** over RD and Crash taking his hat, and and of course seeing Mike Samples getting hit by a car (and watching everyone react to it).
