I liked Glacier towards the end of WCW when they started showing the "Blood runs colder.....Again" vigentes with the announcers crapping all over it. Glacier then made his return as a superhero parody of himself. Too bad WCW had to end .

Yeah the problem was he faced a bunch of jobbers who couldn't sell his offensive at all. It just looked bad. But when he was in matches with Mortis, Wrath and the Cat they well thought out.

If Glacier had kept the mask on, we wouldn't have been able to see that his eyes were TWO DIFFERENT COLORS!!! Yeah the problem was he faced a bunch of jobbers who couldn't sell his offensive at all. It just looked bad. I wonder if this is why the Cryonic Kick ultimately became the set-up move rather than the finisher, and then Glacier would sit up his opponent and go for the Ice Pick for the sleeper hold submission. As tedious as the "Glacier is coming" build up was, I actually really liked the gimmick. But especially when Glacier was booked for some jobber squashing, his entrance would last longer than the match.

Glacier was booked at the nearby PCW Arena in Chatsworth, GA. On the sign outside their building it proclaimed, "Coming this Saturday...WCW SUPERSTAR GLACIER! Autographed photos will be sold". My wife couldn't understand why I kept laughing for the next ten minutes.
As Madison said, Glacier's problem was that he was Glacier. He didn't really wrestle so much as kick a lot and his feuds with Wraith, Mortis, and Ernest Miller made little to no sense to me. Wrestling over a magic helmet and whether or not you're the best martial artist just didn't keep me enthralled.

i remember when those promos first started, i thought this guy must be a monster, maybe WCW's answer to undertaker. it seemed to be a total waste of promotion time and a lavish entrance on a guy that wasnt that physically impressive, as wrestlers go. (6'2", 240 according to OWW). im also biased in that i never cared for martial arts themed wrestlers, so that didnt help either.

All his matches should have started with FIGHT! Yeah...and have the announcer (Gary Michael Cappetta or whoever) come on the PA and scream "FINISH HIM!"

The biggest problem with Glacier is that the actual performer could never hope to match the awesomeness of the promo clips.
They hyped him so much, I expected way too much!

I thought the character was too unrealistic. Could've toned it down a few notches and turn the volume up on his in-ring ability and it would be okay.

I always loved Glacier as a character,a ninja with a Mortal Kombat esque costume. As a kid I LOVED martial arts and everything related to it. Street Fighter,Mortal Kombat,Ninja Turtles,Bruce Lee, Jean Claude. You name it I loved it. Now being a big WCW fan and discovering vignettes of a Sub-Zero esque character,I was hooked.
And who would blame me the dude looked awesome in full ninja garb.,and I bet the gear cost lots of smackers too.
But they hyped him SO MUCH,that it was ridiculous. He they are showing vignettes EVERY WEEK of a ninja of WMAC Masters preportion who is ready to kick the crap out of everyone in the WCW. Nobody could live up to hype like THIS.
Well once the day arrived, he took off the helmet, took off the mask and he looks like a typical Mid-90 ish body builder. OK so maybe his inring skill would back it up. But it didn't. Glacier wasn't a HORRIBLE wrestler,he was just too bland. Here he is dressed in full MK garb, and all he could do was kick.It took the fun out of his character. They didn't do anything with him. Didn't work with him, didn't try to improve him. Nothing.
Now if they toned downed the gimmick a little and if he could do the breath taking Martial Arts/Pro Wrestling hybrid that Rob Van Dam could do with his Frog Splashes, and Split Legged Moonsaults and Monkey Flips and Rolling Thunders and Van Daminators and Van Terminators, Glacier would have been WCWs answer to Undertaker.
Then again this all sounds too good to be true.
