I've found it! I've finally found it!
the biggest, problem with glacier!
you know what it was? no not that all he did was that he would go out and just kick people. it was that HE TOOK THE MASK OFF during his entrance!
seriously? why did he do that?! mortis didn't take the mask off! he had this awesome entrance with the snow and what have you, then he takes his mask of and instead of looking like sub zero ala mortal kombat 3 he looks like.. well every muscle head you'd see in the gym in the mid 90's.
when I first saw glacier I thought "sweet sub zero" then he took the mask off and I went like "oh... he's just another guy who kicks alot" this is when I started to like mortis more because atleast he looked like a god damn skeleton and had james mitchelle in his corner.

That costume was so cheap, I'm not sure the mask would stay on.

The biggest problem was that they never had Scorpion come in to fight him.

Also his matches were incredibly awkward because of his style, or lack thereof, consisting only of weird, non-convincing kicks.

He was the boogeyman of his time, big entrance, wierd, odd, not so good in the ring but entertaining sort of.

It got worse when he talked. The southern accent didn't do him any favors.

Glacier was the personification of WCW at the time. He had a great build up, to the point that you may have wanted to spend money to see him wrestle, because they made him look awesome in the vignettes.
But then when it came time for the execution, it fell flat. But I loved his entrance music, even without the lasers and snow it's a cool theme.

For 3 monthes they kept talking about "Glacier is coming". Then forgot about him, Started the promos again, After his 1st match it was all over for him. Even though his 1st match wasn't all that bad to me.

Even though his 1st match wasn't all that bad to me. The problem may have been that we expected him to do Mortal Kombat moves. Like we wanted him to do 13 front flips in the air before kicking someone. By the way his matches with Mortis were awesome, no matter what the critics say.

I think that, after a build-up that long, it would have been impossible for almost anyone to have succeeded.
Many people stopped caring months before he was introduced, and the rest kept trusting that the end result would be worth it.
I blame the ridiculous amount of time they expected people to wait before seeing Glacier more than anything else.

Biggest problem with Glacier was that he came out looking like a Sub-Zero themed yet still acted and sounded like a Coach Buzz Stern type gimmick.

He could have been entertaining, if he had moved a little faster. I liked his matches, just all the posing and stalling he did was ridiculous.

I remembered Glacier as being a total joke, but I watched an old PPV match with him and Ernest Miller against Mortis and Wrath, and it was not only very good, the crowd was totally into it.
No, I think the biggest problem with Glacier... besides his goofy costume... is the fact that most people didn't know how to sell his kicks very well. Kanyon was acting like he got shot ten times, and it resulted in great matches, the rest of the time, nothin'.
