Around 2000, WCW repackaged Lex Luger as "The Total Package". I remember it being a knockoff of the Narcissist gimmick he had in the WWF. He had a feud with Hogan before disappearing forever.
Is this gimmick wrestlecrap?

I wouldn't say so, but I would say that "Team Package," the Luger-Flair duo - that was named after LEX FREAKIN' LUGER! - is pushing it. I mean, you've got a literal living legend in Flair, and an overrated windbag in Luger, and you name the team after the windbag?
Please.....

I remember this. They wouldn't even call him Lex Luger anymore, only The Total Package.

He was one of those packages that US Mail doesn't allow you to ship. Totally.

The gimmick wasn't crap, but the vignette where Luger became "The Total Package" and had a funeral for himself (for "Lex Luger" that is) was.

Well Luger was nicknamed the Total Package long before that,to call him strictly by his nickname seemed like WCW was taking another page out of the WWF's book

Well Luger was nicknamed the Total Package long before that,to call him strictly by his nickname seemed like WCW was taking another page out of the WWF's book For me the most disturbing part was the fact that he would come out and remove tear-away pants while in a spotlight. I don't need to see that, really I don't.

I remember liking this gimmick because Luger had become stale and his sort of spiced things up a little.

It seemed pointless to change his name to just his nickname and didn't really accomplish anything.

Does anyone else remember the funeral vignette they did for this? It was really bad.

I remember when he was feuding with Perfect Event (PerfectShawn Stasiak and "The Main Event" Chuck Palumbo). That was pretty weird. I think he locked them in their tanning beds once. They came out all red, OH THE HILARITY!
Also, Perfect Event was almost gayer than Billy & Chuck, somehow...

Maybe he should have teamed with Curt Hennig and call themselves Totally Perfect, and both of them as a tag team should feud both Stasiak and Palumbo.

I thought it was even stupider in 2002 when they started calling Val Venis....... The Big Valbowski during his entrance. He didnt really have a big role yet they changed his name. I liked the Total Package's entrance music though.
Induct them both!!!!! <--Hey i've never said it before so its my turn!!!!!!!!!! ;D

I think Luger's done his fair share in providing Wrestlecrap over the years, I'm willing to let this gimmick slide.
