RD, what are your thoughts about the Colts playing their old nemesis, the New England Patriots.....a team that has played a thorn to your side several times.

I was cheering for the Patriots the entire game. That was so bizarre, and even Mrs. Deal looked and me and said, "JUDAS!" God I love her. It is time for the Colts, especially Peyton, to put up or shut up. The stars have aligned for them to get every conceivable monkey off their back, right in front of us in the Dome. If they can do it, then they've exorcised all their past demons. If they don't, Peyton's legacy will be forever tarnished. This is pro wrestling booking at its finest. I love it. RD

RD I know the feeling, RD. In the 1996 Divisional playoffs, I was rooting for Dallas to beat Carolina to advance to the NFC Championship against my Packers in Green Bay, and not in Dallas like we'd had to go the last 300 times we'd played them. Of course they were vaginas and lost. It would have been nice to stomp them in Lambeau. I felt so dirty rooting for Dallas. It was like rooting for Satan.

I was so happy the Chargers kicker missed that field goal. Now, we get to see old rivals go at it again.

I was kindof cheering for the Chargers because nothing against the Colts or Pats, but im about sick of seeing these two teams play. Once Manning finally beat them I just didnt care.
But the fact it goes to Manning's house and not that visiting team hellhole Gilette Stadium, hopefully something can happen.
Im cheering for the Colts, just because im sick of the Pats. Tom Brady could be playing as the Lions in a lose-and-forget the playoffs game in around week 5, and NO CRITIC would go against him because Tom Brady is soooooooooooooooooo friggin clutch...yeah right.
Wow...I must really be looking like crap after saying the Colts were done in the Wildcard, now theyre the AFC favs to get to the Super Bowl.
At least the Bears and Saints both won, I dunno who to root for there.

RD That's EXACTLY how it was happening for everybody here in Indy. Why root for the Chargers, knowing that if they win we'd be going to the West Coast and get killed, when we could root for our sworn enemy and get the home game, something we have yet to lose all season? As long as Adam doesn't pull a Vanderjact we'll be alright. Cause if he starts shanking kicks against his FORMER TEAM, he won't make it out of the Dome alive. Also, I'm working on finding a few tix. I'll see what I can do for ya Deal. -D2

I doubt that. The Pats get the critics behind them because they're a NorEast team and a lot of the media is from there. Boston and NY teams always get the love if they play halfway decent.

I heard something interesting on the radio. They were comparing this year's Colts to Elways Broncos. They always gave him crap about being the favorite in the playoffs and not delivering, always falling short of the title. But once people got sick of rooting for them and looked elsewhere, the Broncos then went into the playoffs as a wildcard with everyone expecting a quick KO, and they FINALLY won the friggin Super Bowl. Twice even. Is it not the same thing with the Colts? Who seriously didnt think the Chiefs were just gonna run them into the ground (I even made it a gaurantee on another topic to RD...whoops...)? Im tellin ya, I honestly think if the Colts D can hold up (one part of me keeps saying their D performing at this level is a fluke), and Payton can step it up also they can beat the Patriots, no matter how friggin "clutch" Tom Brady and Belicheck (sp?) are. Tom Brady could be playing as the Lions in a lose-and-forget the playoffs game in around week 5, and NO CRITIC would go against him because Tom Brady is soooooooooooooooooo friggin clutch...yeah right. Wait, so you're saying he isn't clutch? Im not saying he isn't, but EVERYONE thinks he can win every freaking game put in front of him because of it. It could be the Cleveland Browns with Brady as QB against the 85 Bears, and the critics would STILL sit there: Critic 1-Well this Bears defense is unstoppable, among the best we have ever seen, no doubt. 2-Yes, absolutley, nobody can stop this teams defense when they are at thier best. And lets not forget Walter Peyton, he just keeps ripping and shredding the record book. 1-Yes, but lets not count Brady out. Hes had some close games before. 2-No doubt about that, he might be able to take this Browns offense ranked last in the league and turn them into something special. Me (at home)-MY ASS! My little brother-30 men will enter...MY ASS! Me-Oh god not again... (If ya dont get it run a youtube search for Jim Ross, Rap)

The fact is that they have a great system set up in New England. You could interchange about half the QBs in the league in there and they would do just as well and won three rings. Let's not forget their defense won them their first title by keeping the Rams at bay just long enough (if there's one more minute on that clock the Rams win), a second title because Kasey couldn't keep the ball in bounds, both of those titles because their kicker nailed long kicks, and a third because the Eagles can't manage the clock. All Brady did was get them close to winning. He's never had to do what Elway or Montana did and drive down and score a TD to win a game. He just gets them close enough to win. Everyone forgets how streaky the Patriots were this year. I don't think they can put together 4 straight wins in the playoffs, especially not with this team. And I hope the Colts crush them. Cause I'll shoot myself if I have to listen to 3 months of "TOM BRADY IS THE GREATEST QB OF ALL TIME!"

There aren't a lot of rivalries in current football, so seeing one in Patriots/Colts will make it a a lot more exciting watch.
