they reminded me more of Rob Halford more than anything else as a kid.

I gotta disagree. Demolition never caused this to cross my mind. They were bad assed real men through and through.

they reminded me more of Rob Halford more than anything else as a kid. Your 21 you were barley even born when demolition was around . 2-4 year olds don't watch wrestling they watched the teenage mutant ninja turtles . as for halford he came out in the late 90's so when you were a kid demolition was done for a long time. the 80's were a different time so if you were around and thought that way than hair bands were gay too. being that you were a "Toddler" in the 80's you didn't have the knowledge to distinguish between what was gay. 80's wrestlers that looked gay: the rockers,Ric flair, adorable Adrian, the fantastics. plus i find throwing rocks about the past kinda funny with the current trend of wrestlers that look gay (That list is to huge to start.

Agreed completely. Nothing annoys me more than people talking about stuff that they weren't around to see and using today's standards to judge the past. It's pointless and stupid. Just to add: the thought of anything "gay" related never entered my mind while watching wrestling pre-1995. Of course, people would tell me how "gay" wrestling was, but I myself never really cared. Ironically, the first time I thought something was "gay" in the WWF was when Shawn was champion in 1996. A male stripper gyrating to cheesy music just turned me off. Demolition? Bad ass.

I sense a bit of hostility. Well They were around for a good 4 to 5 years so I was well aware of them when I started watching wrestling when I was 5 (their look really sticks with you). Also my mom use to work in Radio so I was well aware who Rob Halford was via Judas Priest too (we still have the records she got from work) . and for the record I was more into The Real Ghostbusters as a kid. So I guess you don't know me that well.

No hostility here 5 year olds still would not know what gay was and halford came out publicly after he left Judas priest . i would buy it if it was from the attitude era being you were like 12-14 by then thinking someone was gay but at 5 you would not think those things What is it with the gay threads on this board anyway? i watch wrestling to be entertained. the stone throwing kills me being that tons of todays wrestlers must be gay by your dress code standards. the real ghostbusters? well at least your mother was smart and kept barney off the TV.lol

Well I didn't find them feminine as a kid, I just thought they looked like a Judas priest cover ;D the 80's was a generation of leather, from the music on down to wrestling everybody was for some reason clad in it. people that dressed there kids in it always cracked me up( i had a friend who dressed her 2 year old in a studded leather coat.lol). it was better than the 70's garb though( i have this horrid picture of myself way back in 1975 at the tender age of 8 at disneyworld in a leisure suit. i have no idea to this day what my mom was thinking when she bought that). now I'm paranoid that on my 40th my girlfriend will find where i hid the photo and post it in the paper under the look who's 40 today section.lol the rock&wrestling connection was a fun time i gotta admit. there were so many feds going back then it never got dull.

Especially with the chaps they used to wear to the ring over their tights.. a little fruity in the booty if you ask me. I laughed way harder at this than I should have

Actually, when I first saw them the first thing I thought of was Humungus from The Road Warriors which if I were a betting man they were modled after: Awwww.... He's so small, he's cute.

The masks look pretty cool, woulda been cool if they wore them all the time cause the paint looks stupid, but then it woulda been hard to see.
But year that stuff they wore looked really bad, and lmao that song sounds like Trey Parker would sing in South Park in an over the top voice...

...but then Ax spoke, and all was forgiven. Seriously. You cannot doubt Demolition's bad-assness with a voice like that. Bill Eadie has the meanest voice in wrestling. Still.

I expected alot of people, especially the one's seeing a Demolition match for the first time to blurt out GAY!!!!GAY!!!!GAY!!!!! the second they saw their outfits. Demolition is still one of my favorite tag teams, and I know I am in the minority when I say that I actually liked them more than LOD. They weren't meant to be gay in any way whatsoever. Theyre look came out right in the mid 80's when the studded leather look was catching on, a couple of years before it was adopted by/labeled as the gay community. Maybe that's why Mcmahon was showing them the door in the early 90's. All they had to do was update slightly, but they could of kept the death masks. Those were awesome. To this day I still check eBay to see if one finds it's way there. I recently saw an interview in Nov 1990 where they started wearing those leather ski mask things. Christ they looked like the gimp from Pulp Fiction

The Demolition music was one of the best theme musics ever. The paint was awesome, especially when during their first couple of title reigns. One of the greatest tag teams ever.

You have to be careful with Demolition though, if you get too nostalgic and watch old stuff you'll realize 1/2 their matches are those stomping axe handles...
