1) Wow, talk about great booking in that first match. The Honky Tonk Man winds up against 3 men who he had screwed over one way or another over the past year: Jake Roberts, who he smashed his guitar over before WM3; Ricky Steamboat, who he stole the IC Title from; and Randy Savage, who he was currently feuding with. It's too bad Monsoon or Ventura didn't mention that fact. Just the fact that Honky was up against 3 guys.
2) I can't help but laugh at Steamboat during the pre-interview making all those over the top Kung Fu noises, completely ridiculous.
3) How many times did Andre The Giant say the phrase "I'm here for one reason Hogan" over the course of his heel run? He says it on this night and he said it when he challenged him for the title at WM3.
4) It's a guilty pleasure of mine hearing Jesse Ventura mark out for The Jumping Bomb Angels. He seemed genuinely excited and impressed.
5) The Fabulous Moolah looks genuinely pissed at Howard Finkel saying she weighed in at 160 pounds. Monsoon even comments on this, hilarious.
I'm in the middle of the show so I might come across a few others. Post some of your own thoughts on this great event.
I accidentally posted this in WWE Current woops lol. Let's give it another shot.

The Coliseum Video version showed the entire 20 minutes of the women's match while clipping Savage's Team vs Honky's Team and the 10 team tag match. That annoyed me for days after watching it the first time.
I hated the female match. The crowd was dead and the match went on for days.
I loved the opener. That was a mid-card wet dream. Savage, Honky, Roberts, Steamboat, Beefcake, Race.....hell, even Duggan and Hercules were OK. That was just the mid-carder match. Great crowd heat and good ending. EVERYONE wanted to see Honky get his ass kicked back then, me included.
I liked the 1988 ten team tag better than 1987, maybe because I liked the teams better in 1988. Good match nonetheless.
The main event was solid and well booked. It kept Hogan and Andre away from each other, even though the fans were craving for it. It put over Bigelow like a star, but too bad he didn't get pushed that much after that.
Overall it was a very good show, but not as good as 1988, IMO.

6) How great is it that you had 5 heel teams and each had their own manager?
7) "It's Toma if I say it's Toma!" and "My great great grandfather Efferim (sp?) The Body came over on the Mayflower"

Was that when nobody could agree how to pronounce Tama's name?

The BEST part of this survivor series, beyond any doubt, is when Andre refers to "Frito Santana".

The BEST part of this survivor series, beyond any doubt, is when Andre refers to "Frito Santana". The best part of Survivor Series 1987 is the "How the Million Dollar Man spends Thanksgiving" section. I will never grow tired of RVD kissing his feet or Linda McMahon down on all fours barking like a dog. And they cut it from the video/dvd release. (Lucky I recorded it straight off the TV all those years ago).

The BEST part of this survivor series, beyond any doubt, is when Andre refers to "Frito Santana". I'm positive that Andre's "Frito Santana" line was from Survivor Series 1988. Did he also do it in SSeries 1987? I don't remember that. It was funny either way. The CHV version of SSeries 1987 will go down as the biggest example of how NOT to edit a show to fit a 2 hour time period. Cut 10 minutes from the women's match, and add 5 each to the opener and the ten team tag, and it would of been a lot better.

The first two Survivor Series PPV's are still two of the only ones I've never seen from 85-96. They're so hard to find on Ebay for cheap and so hard to find anywhere else.

I just realized last night that my copy of the PPV version is missing the tailend of the show. I just noticed last night that Monsoon says something about Gene Okerlund tracking down Andre but the tape cuts off right after that. I also don't have the intro, it just starts with Jesse Ventura talking about the show.
