Okay so Im sitting here watching some ECW match with RVD and Sabu in 96...
...and I can honestly say Edge/Foley was alot better...
I mean in Edge/Foley they didnt just do random akward spot after random spot. They (Edge/Foley) didnt do some huge spot then watch the guy get up a few seconds later do some weak move afterwards. They (E/F) actually told somewhat of a story and actually built up the the huge spot...
I only watched ECW on TNN and my memory is kinda hazy about it as it was a while back and I was young but were alot of the matches like this?

are you crazy it was ECW!!!!! ECW ECdub!!!!!! ECdub!!!!!! ECdub!!!!!!
yeah...i can't stand ECW marks who say their stuff was the best mainly just cuz it was ECW when there were just as nasty matches in WCW (Foley losing his ear, the benoit sullivan feud) and WWF/E (Edge/foley, HIAC 2 where HBK broke his back, MITB1) ECW can get a lil overrated but they had some *****+ legit matches, but they also had matches that looked like something out of itchy and scratchy...a reason i never could be a 100% ECW fan.
and ECW was a shell of itself when TNN ran in and imposed it's will.

HIAC 2 where HBK broke his back Hate to be picky, but that's just who I am. Hell in a Cell II was Kane/Mankind vs. Austin/Undertaker. Michaels broke his back at Royal Rumble 98.

i may be one of the few that wasn't impressed with edge and Foley, the only extreme thing edge has done, is lita So landing in thumbtacks and going face first into fire isnt "extreme"? Jumping and falling from ladders out of the ring through tables isnt? Unless you were just saying you didnt like the match and were just trying to make a joke about Lita...then...meh...

Yeah that's definatly hardcore, but who brought that style of wrestling to the US? ECW. Who brought tables to the US? ECW. Barbwire in the US? ECW. Flaming tables/general fire in the US? ECW. See what I'm getting at?

It was actually a match because I read in a WWF Magazine a few years back that after the show went off the air, it continued as a Dark Match, which Taker and Austin won when Taker tombstoned Mankind.

Yes. We do. Who invented the hamburger? Germany. Who invented apple pie? Germany(yes, despite the popular saying). Now, who PERFECTED it? The United States.
See what I'm getting at? Just because you make it mainstream doesn't make it the best, dude.
By using your theory(sp), the WWE is the best wrestling ever because Vince brought professional wrestling to the mainstream United States.

The old ECW had HEART. The new "ECW" is a shadow of its former self.
