As I'm watching the show I had a memory (which come few and far between now) of him in the royal rumble. I'll have to dig around my archive for the tape buy I believe he at least deserves a (dis)honorable mention somewhere.

No he doesn't, considering he really didn't do much. He ran into the ring, offered Kane some cash not to murder him, and ran right back out again.
If you have to do a celebrity-in-the-ring deal, that's the way to do it: short, sweet, over before anyone gets mad, leave 'em laughing.

This has been discussed before, but I guess I'll just say what I've felt for the last four years or so.
Drew Carey was how a celebrity-in-wrestling should be done; short, simple and over before any damage occurs. Plus, that little bit with him and Kane nullifies any crap that might have accumulated in those two minutes.
It's a matter of circumstance; Drew Carey was in-and-out while David Arquette won the title, both are celebrities-in-wrestling, yes. But both are completely different in circumstances.

Drew Carey was offered a spot in the Rumble after Vince caught him hitting on Trish. Drew cost Lo Down their spot that they had won earlier on Heat. Drew came in while the Hardyz were in, they eliminated eachother and Drew celebrated. Then Kane came out and took a long time to get in the ring. Kane stalked Drew, and Drew offered Kane money to leave him alone. Raven came out right before Kane could take out Drew, and Drew climbed over the top rope and eliminated himself.
Short, sweet, and did nothing to hurt any wrestlers image. Did not put over any wrestlers, but did no harm. Much better than Arquette.

They pulled a WCW with Carey in that they didn't advertise him, or even announce him as being there. He just kinda showed up.

Nah, Drew was in and out so quick that no real harm was done that I see...
