i was always a bit confused when macho man threw himself over the top rope, and was then dragged back in by undertaker. did savage just forget himself for a moment, and do the wrong thing, or was that honestly part of the booking somehow? heenan said that nobody threw savage out, so he could go back in. if that moment in the ring really wasnt planned, i gotta givbe bobby props for a brilliant bit of improv right there:)

My guess is that Savage just forgot and jumped out. And you're right, Heenan did a great job of improvising.

Oh God, don't let Savage know this, else he might show up at the 2006 Rumble saying he was cheated 14 years ago...

if he was still in since he jumped out himself, Andre should have one like 18 more battle royals.

Savage was eliminated later in the match by Sid after someone kneed Sid in the back.

Doesn't that mean Drew Carey's still in the Royal Rumble? BAH GAWD DREW CAREY'S THE NUMBER ONE CONTENDER! With McMahon, despite hating it, making WWE more like WCW everyday...DO NOT TEMPT THEM! They might actually have a world champion job to Carey. And unless it's Trips (or, if this was TNA, Jarrett) I do NOT want to see that.

Props to Heenan on that one. The Coach would have called it "a shining wizard" and never mention it again.

And Ahmed came in later in the match, and eliminated Faarooq after he was already eliminated himself.

It's interesting that WWE forgot about that. That wasn't the only time a Rumble mistake had to be explained away. In 1994, Shawn Michael's foot hit the floor as he was about to "skin the cat" over the top rope. That lead to the long-standing one foot rule (no pun intended), in which both feet must touch the floor. That rule was never established prior to that occaision.

The two feet rule has always been established in the Royal Rumble. Go back to any Rumble before 94 and you'll hear Fink say when going over the rules that BOTH feet must hit the floor.
