Does anyone else think that the name change from WWF to WWE should be considered WrestleCrap? I certainly do. I think the fact that they have to alter audio and blur the living hell out of anything from their most successful era certainly constitutes WrestleCrap.

The comical overblurring of Attitude footage is definitely wrestlecrap.

Well the fact that the company is the "WWE" and yet the new logo only reads "WW" is wrestlecrap IMO. Why they didn't just change the F to an E I'll never know.

It sucks, but there's only so much they can do because of the lawsuit.

I don't know if I would classify it as wrestlecrap. I'll agree it majorly sucks but they lost a legit court case and are having to adhere to the ruling.

I don't know why they didn't change up the name to World Wrestling Federation Entertainment, which I think is the companies actual name now......Or, at least part of the company carries this name.

It wasnt really WrestleCrap, it was just an unfortunate circumstance which WWF at the time couldnt do anything about.
I like the way McMahon brags about how he's beaten everyone. WCW, Ted Turner, The U.S Government...oh and God? but when it comes to Wildlife funds, he's tapping out like a b****!

I hate the whole "Entertainment" component. I understand the pressure to change the name, and even the similarity of "E" to the "F," but I still hate this and would be happier with any other word as the third part of the name.

WWFE would've been a far better name change. They could've still used "World Wrestling Federation" too, since it was the initials that the World Wildlife Fund had a problem with.

Or hell, WWWF wouldn't have been a bad idea either...
The only reason they lost their agreement of the past with the Panda was the same reason they have a lot of deals fall through with comic companies... Vince craps on the idea he should have to adhere to the terms of these agreements when he has no power what so ever in them.
Remember how the WWE lost the ability to use "Hulk" and then Hogan got his own contract to use it? Yeah, I have a feeling Hulk's making Vince pay a pretty penny to market his name on T-shirts.

Another thing.. wasn't one of the driving arguments that made Vince change the name due to the terms of agreement with the Panda the wwf.com web domain?
Because I love going there and it being a frickin search engine trap.

Both WWFE and WWWF are better than WWE. It doesn't matter how many initials there are.
Incidentally, is anyone else annoyed with "WWE" being retroactively used for past WWF and WWWF history?

I personally think that Vince could have avoided the blurring if he had just offered to make a charitable donation to the WWF every year. Then he could have changed the name but not have to result to the blurring of past footage. Although I really don't know the details of the case.

Laugh at this idea...but since Vince owns the WCW name, why didn't he just work out a storyline where Bischoff and the former WCW wrestlers take over the promotion and change the name, and when Vince ineviable wins back the promotion, decides to just keep the WCW name, just to spite Bischoff? Okay, my idea sucks. But at least "WCW"(bad history and all) sounds better than "WWE".

Yes, I absolutely hate that. The WWE did not exist before 2002. there were these things called the WWF and WWWF that preceded it.
