At the Great American Bash 1996, Ric Flair and Arn Anderson had a tag match with Mongo and another football player, Kevin Greene (a nod to his wrestling skills) who they'd been giving shit on Nitro for weeks. Well, in the end of the match, Mongo turned on Greene, and accepted a briefcase full of money that the Horsemen had offered him to join up. The dumbest part of this is the fact that they chose Steve McMichael to replace BRIAN FRIGGIN' PILLMAN.

Or pictures of Bischoff with a sheep? I just can't imagine anyone of sound mind saying "Let's put a meathead football player in with some of the best wrestlers ever."

I guess it could be worse though since he only won the U.S. title, I'm glad WCW decided an NFL player with little ability shouldn't be pushed too much I mean that would be just plain crazy.....oh yeah.

nobody, and I mean NOBODY, liked Mongo being a part of the so-called elite group in pro wrestling, it was a real shame
I was shocked when I saw the things that happened at GAB 96 and thought: WTF he´s gonna wrestle in the future?? and besides Flair, Malenko and Benoit, 3 of the best workers in North America?

Mongo was part of LT's "crew" leading up to the 'Mania main event of LT vs. Bigelow. Rumor has it that Mongo wanted to be a rassler, but Vince got wind that he stunk and he left and went to WCW. Although, I sorta imagine it was more along the lines of ATM Eric offering more money.

Didn't Flair once say, when the crowd was mercilessly booing Mongo, that "Mongo was in the horseman because the Naitch says so!" or something to that effect?

As long as he stayed far away from the cvommentary table, I was OK with him joining the Horsemen. I forgot just how bad he was until I saw the Pillman DVD with Mongo commentating the first episode of Nitro.
