You know thinking back, I never did get how this would put people away.
I mean it is unique, but really all a michinoku driver is is basically a sit out bodyslam. I mean people get up from a body slam all the time but a michinoku driver somehow put people away. And what made it even more weird is that the fans never questioned this after seeing tons and tons of bodyslams.

The opponent takes more impact on his neck than his back.

WWF made him do it as more of a slam. I've seen vids of him doing it outside of WWF and it looks sick.

I always thought it looked pretty cool even in WWE. Of course, Taka jobbed so much that he didn't use a finisher consistently, but it was cool while it lasted.

Wasn't he fired when he was Light Heavyweight Champ, and then brought back to drop the strap to Christian ala Gillberg coming back to lose to Essa Rios?

I meant something Lawler would rib Taka about. I'm fairly certain he called that move the Taco Supreme.

But the Michinoku driver is very bad ass and dangerous. The opponent is supposed to land on his head, but after a while he started to change it a little for safety reasons and I remember that even in the videogames it became more of a slam then a piledriver (which it technicaly is).

it usually got kicked out of, he won most of his matches by either a pinning combination or a splash of some kind.
