I was reading the Tv Tropes article for "Legends Of The Hidden Temple"(Because I got that kinda time on my hands, you see), and they bring up the Shrine of The Silver Monkey. This was something that always irritated me about this show. No matter what, no matter how well the kids had performed up till that point, these kids always managed to be outwitted by a three piece jigsaw puzzle. I never understood why it always took so long for people to complete, to the point of sometimes costing them the entire challenge. Just an irritant I had to bring up. One could also consider this a Legends Of The Hidden Temple Appreciation thread, because it was an awesome show.

My younger brothers loved the show. I did not. I won't ruin your thread, but I had to share.

But BEWARE the TEMPLE GUARDS!
This is easily my #2 show in the "Wow, that looks like fun" category.
First would be Nick Arcade. YOU'RE LIKE TOTALLY IN A VIDEOGAME.

Have you put that in the "Just Bugs Me" section of that page?

Were there any way to know how to avoid the temple guards or were they like a random screw you if you didn't have enough pendants or what ever.

And sometimes, it was TRULY a screw you, depending on where they put them Yeah, especially if the kid was unlucky enough to have a guard in the first f***ing room, which happened more than once. Only one team ever completed the whole last segment without running into even a single guard.

Only one team ever completed the whole last segment without running into even a single guard. Several have come close though. I think the most bone-headed defeat without EVER seeing a Guard had to be the Broken Trident of Poseidon episode. The first kid goes in there, gets the Trident, without running into a Guard, starts on the way back, then she accidentally drops the Trident, keeps going ahead for about two rooms, realizes she dropped the Trident, turns around grabs it and instead of taking the quicker path of just going straight ahead, she burns time climbing down a ladder and she runs out of time. Her team mate was on his freaking knees at how stupid she was. I think there is a clip of it somewhere.... Oh, here it is: *facepalm*

To be fair with the puzzle, they're pretty amped up from running and likely being scared by the guard so they're not exactly thinking straight.
Oh, and I wish there was a clip of the kid who kicked the guard in the nuts. It wasn't anything over the top, but I remember my bro and I catching it as a kid and just laughing like crazy and talk at school of it... then around New Years one year it was on GaS, my sister and I were watching it and that episode was on again. ...AND IT WAS STILL FUNNY.
