Despite OTL being a disappointment, there was a good silver lining as in the opening bout The Intercontinental Title switched hands as Kingston finally ended McIntrye's reign.
Defeating the world champion and becoming IC champion again in three days, a good week for him. Now hopefully he'll have a long reign and show WWE that he is ready for the main event.

Wonder what the point of Drew taking it off him last week was... lol. But the match was good, didn't expect him to win with the SOS though. Hopefully he goes onto feud with the likes of Rhodes, Ziggler, and even Chris Masters now.

We all know that on Friday's Smackdown, Vince will reverse the decision and give the belt back to Drew.

I don't care who beat Drew McIntyre. He comes off as a lazy worker to me, ergo he is a terrible worker. He's not even good enough to job to Hornswoggle.

What would be the point of Vince reversing it? Kofi won it fair and square. Vince cannot reverse the decision only because he feels like it.

I don't get McIntyre dropping the title now and feuding with Matt Hardy. Their matches were horrid. I really think McIntyre vs. Kofi in a extended feud could have been awesome and gotten both into the next level and could have had an awesome ladder match for the IC Title at Summerslam. Now? Ugh! I don't see any hope for either McIntyre demolishes Hardy yet again and leads to.......eh don't care. Kofi maybe feuds with Rhodes who has no interesting character and doesn't do anything of worth. Man this proves they don't give a crap about Smackdown. Seriously WWE get Punk off this show so I never have to watch it again.

Well, since they seem to be slowly building Kofi this time, instead of hotshotting him, I hope they change his theme music and Tron to something less.....Jamaican. If they want to basically call a mulligan on his RAW run....they need to commit to it and have him start completely fresh.

Unfortunately, Vince has had a bad habit of doing the same kind of things that killed WCW in recent years. Let's just hope we won't be seeing Jon Lovitz taking the belt in a tag match tomorrow/tonight.

See, the theme music thing doesn't bug me, and the "He's not Jamaican, so he shouldn't have Jamaican music!" argument doesn't do much for me, either.
Unless we come to find out that Kofi himself absolutely hates the song (like Orton hating "Burn in my Light"), I don't think he needs to change it. It has a distinctive opening that the crowd easily recognizes, and it still works for a face of his status and attitude.
Just because he's decided to be billed from Ghana doesn't mean he has to turn into Prince Nana and ask Drew what he knows about Shrimp Cocktail (and no, I'm not saying anyone specific is saying he has to do that).
If they're not turning him heel, or into a mean surly badass, there's no reason to change his theme.

If they're not turning him heel, or into a mean surly badass, there's no reason to change his theme. Sure there is. They JUST came off a storyline where he was exposed as not being Jamaican in the slightest, and where he admitted that persona was 10000% FALSE....so why the hell does he still have the theme and the Tron from that persona? It makes ZERO sense to me to still keep that around. It's not like changing it would mean that the fans would NEVER have a clue as to who's coming out. They might not pop that first time, but they'd learn to associate the new tune with him soon enough. It just seems half-assed to me that they kill that "smilin' Jamaican" persona deader than hell, piss on it's grave, and tell everyone to forget he EVER spoke with an accent (despite the existence of older DVDs where the accent is in full force) yet they keep that Reggae theme and Jamaican tron, complete with the colors of the Jamaican flag in the lights. It'd be the same thing if on the next RAW, Sheamus came out, spoke without an accent, told us all he was never from Ireland....yet they STILL called him the Celtic Warrior and he still had that Irish-tinged theme. It'd make ZERO sense.

Well at least Drew had a good run...well it was a okay run...well it was better than Dean Douglas anyway.
Damn, it really is hard to like the guy. But I'm trying.

This whole thing confuses me. If the Vince heel character is no longer around then how can Drew be the chosen one? How is VInce supposed to help him without being a heel?
Plus on wrestlezone they said that a lot of the talent don't want to work with Drew. That could be why they took the title off him.
I hope they give Kofi a legit push and make the IC title mean something again.

I'd say Kofi's one of the last guys on the roster in need of a theme music change, just because his is so catchy and so distinctive. If he ever turns heel change it then, but for the time being I think it suits him just fine.

Kofi doesn't need to change his music, gimmick, or tron. They're all plenty over and pop the crowds just fine, and that's what's most important.
Fixing what's wrong with McIntyre will take more than just new music.
With any luck, the strap will stay off McIntyre and he and Hardy feud for a little while longer until Hardy gets the best of it and McIntyre gets bumped down the card, while Kofi holds onto the strap and acts as a fighting champion for at least a couple months against Cody and Ziggler, who are both very talented young guys that could easily put on entertaining matches if given the chance.

Shouldn't this be the "No More McIntyre as Champion Thread"? He really didn't do anything for the belt. It just seemed like when he was champion, he was just.......there.
Also, on the topic of McMahon making him IC champ again, it really doesn't make any sense, storyline-wise or other. For the following reasons:
A) Stripping McIntyre of the belt, giving it to Kofi, giving it back to McIntyre, and then giving it back to Kofi, and then finally giving it back to McIntyre would be ALOT of title changes for two people who only had one official match.
B) It would have been simpler if Drew held the title continuly instead of giving Kofi a few quick runs with the title.
C)He is not over with the crowd, so making him champ again would not plese the fans at all, only getting McMahon over as an evil, favoring boss.
D)People have openly stated that they do not want to work with McIntyre because he is lazy in the ring, and the only two people who were in favor of him are Retired and Injured.

Maybe Drew will pull a HHH and bully the ref into reversing the win.Kofi will become the next generations Jericho.
