either face or heel, without actually doing an official face or heel turn.
Randy Orton recent face popularity is the the only one that comes to mind. He has actually done nothing to turn face other than start wrestling heels. Even when fans started to cheer Steve Austin, they did an official face turn for him at WM 13.
You can name wrestlers from any organization from any period of time.

Carlito's first face turn was pretty much like this. Of course originally it was Chris Masters who was supposed to be turned.

I don't remember Kane actually doing a face turn after kidnapping and torturing Sighn (or however you spell it)

Orton this year.
Edge never really had a turn, he just ran on the "returning wrestler" momentum. He turned back when he speared Orton.

Triple H's return in 02 comes to mind. He got the return-from-career-threatening-injury megapop at the Garden and just rolled with it as a face.

Randy Savage never really had a face turn before the fans started cheering him. Prior to the formation of the Mega Powers they just had to start putting him in matches against heels because the fans were cheering him no matter who he wrestled. Putting him with Hogan was a reaction to the fans having already turned him babyface. He never really did anything different.

Jericho when he told the truth last year? Not the 'heels are ALWAYS right' argument again... Give it a rest.

Also, wouldn't Shelton Benjamin in late 2009 count? He's a heel one minute, the next...he isn't. The turn just sort of happened without any fanfare.

Trish Stratus after her injury. When she left, she was a hated heel, when she came back she was back to her old babyface character without any real explanation why.

I don't remember Kane actually doing a face turn after kidnapping and torturing Sighn (or however you spell it) I can never keep up with whether Kane is a heel or face. I think he's a face now isn't he? The diva's used to change from face to heel and vice versa over on Smackdown in 2006/2007 without any explanation.

How has nobody mentioned this yet?
MATT HARDY. LAST YEAR.
WTF.
"Oh hey guys, I'm back! Hi Jeff!"
The only thing he did to "turn face" was NOT attack his brother.

Couldn't you make the case they turned Savage babyface when the Honky Tonk Man/Hart Foundation hit a guitar over his head? What didn't make sense, though, is why they started antagonizing the still heel Savage in the first place.

How about when the Islanders turned heel when Bobby Heenan became their manager all of a sudden?
