Why the hell can't Hornswoggle talk normally?

Inspired by the Horny-on-Peep-Show (that sounds kinda wrong) depreciation thread, and by my own aggravation with that segment, why on God's green Earth isn't Hornswoggle allowed to talk like a normal person? Obviously he can, I'm pretty sure he talked normally when he was with Finlay, so are they implying that joining DX or beating up on Chavo caused his IQ to drop below the level of speech? Seriously, even my non-wrestling friend were commenting that Horny just grunting and squealing makes him sound and look, well, 'special'.

It's probably the most insulting thing about his character to me now.

Well, Lucky wouldn't be able to shill breakfast cereal if the audience didn't understand him, now could he? Besides, he's a cartoon, and clearly not real.

I'd rather watch Hornswoggle try to pronounce every word in the dictionary than a Bourne promo.

And I'm one of the biggest Bourne marks here.

Anyway, yeah, Hornswoggle just came across like a mentally disabled five year old. I've always been willing to accept the character as an acceptable evil to make the children happy, but last night's segment was too much for me.
