I wouldn't go back to school if I was in his position, he gets enough money so that if he's smart he can live decent later on.
But I've hated school since I was born so I'm biased.

I'd read a few stories that said Shelton may return in the near future and I was thinking how stupid that was seeing as he was JUST released. Now that this story has elaborated on the situation it makes more sense.
I think it's best that wrestlers get an education and a degree before they start wrestling as a career. Once the guys/girls stop wrestling it's good to have something that they can use to get into another area of work. I know some wrestlers have got degrees while wrestling at the same time (Mickie and Candice I know did this), but I guess it's good Shelton is giving his all to his studies.

Well, maybe he didn't save his money. Which they would hopefully teach him in school.
I still mark for the guy so I'd be happy to see him back sooner than later (and hopefully still in good shape).
If it took him a couple of years to come back, I could see him winding down his career as another Goldust/Christian, basically in the role of a decorated veteran midcarder who helps the young'uns get over (which he was more or less doing near the end).

But if you get a career ending injury its nice to have something to fall back on.

That's cool, hopefully he finishes out his degree, stays in shape and makes a big return.

To some people now, a degree is as much a status symbol as it is anything else.
Even if one is making enough money to be in decent shape without a college degree, it's common to come across various people in life who are going to dismiss what someone without a degree says or does, just for the very reason that they do NOT have a degree.
I've known a lot of people who feel that way personally, so who's to say that Shelton hasn't, as well? Especially if his family has always expected him to get a degree, and he doesn't have one yet.

Only Katie Lea of the April batch seems a viable option for TNA now, with Shelton likely to go back to WWE and Mickie doing very well with her album.

Look at where Shelton came from. He was a poor black kid. Getting a degree is likely a HUGE deal to him, whether it will actually make him more money or not. Being rich and famous is awesome, but I know that in a lot of poor families, especially black ones, where the parents may not have even had the opportunity to get an education if they wanted one, getting a college degree is something on a whole different level.
So, good for him. This makes a whole lot more sense now.

You know what you guys are saying good for him... But, as someone who went to school, messed some things up, then went back and finished, I say what happend the first time? Let's remember the young man went to school on a scholarship or partial the first time around.

Let's remember the young man went to school on a scholarship or partial the first time around. It's not like he didn't graduate, he just figured he didn't need a better degree and now he's changed his mind as he's gotten older, or maybe it's because working at the WWE gave him more money to pay for more classes?

Well, when/if he comes back, will MVP have to give back Paydirt?

I doubt once you take out all of his road expenses and bills at home, that Shelton has made enough money to not have to work again. So it's very smart of him to go finish his degree. I'm sure he could always get a job as a wrestling coach as well. Wasn't he an assistant coach at Minnesota while he and Brock wrestled there?

Well, when/if he comes back, will MVP have to give back Paydirt? Yes, at a PPV in a shocking match with "Big" Dave Batista, MVP will unveil his new finisher, the "Basket-BALLIN'," which is basically just MVP taking a piledriver.

Good to hear. I couldn't understand why they released him in the first place. At least they parted on good terms.

AH it makes sense now. He'll get a big return and be on with it.
Again the mid-card is a nice place to be in terms of job security.

For those wondering....Shelton's actually gone to become a licensed Physical Therapist.
One of my best friends occasionally runs autograph shows, and he said he spoke to Shelton at length about this.

Well, when/if he comes back, will MVP have to give back Paydirt? They'll fight in a match over who gets to keep it, but during the match, we'll think it's over when Shelton hits Paydirt, but it's actually MVP debuting a new Rock Bottom finisher called "The incentive bonus"

Well, when/if he comes back, will MVP have to give back Paydirt? I hope not. MVP traded his crappy finisher for Benjamin's crappy finisher.
