in Mexico?
I know in America midget wrestling is seen as a joke but I know some of these Mexican midget wrestlers are amazing athletes and some will compete in the "regular" weight divisions. Does anyone know how they are viewed there?

Well, all I know is that In USA you had two sets of era's in "little people" (I'm not PC, just not derogatory) wrestling. The 1st was the "joke era" that I knew where they really were treated as a joke. Then during the attitude era you had the mini's that were luchadors and were incredible athletes with lightning speed and the fastest paced matches I've ever seen. They had respect at that time even though Jerry Lawler kept treating them as a joke. I remember watching with people and they were laughing at them untill they started wrestling. People were like "whoa! Holy s***!" They said "it's because they're small, that's the reason why they could do those things".

As far as I know, mini-estrellas are well-respected and popular, especially wrestlers who are mini versions of the star wrestlers. In fact, Brazo de Plata/Super Porky is still one of the more popular wrestlers in Mexico. The cool thing about the division is that a lot of the wrestlers aren't midgets, just undersized.

I've never been able to tell if Super Porkey is a fat midget, or a really short fat guy.

The thing that really bothered me about the later era was the Royal Rumble match with Sunny as the ref. She picked Max Mini up and helped him get the win. Even as a kid that seemed wrong. I really liked them at the time. We also had the joke ones though with Dink and the other mini wrestlers verse Lawler's mini wrestlers. It's cool that they are respected in Mexico because size really shouldn't matter. I know some of the "mini clones" are really cool like the Damien 666 one and I know there are others...
