I usually don't start this thread so early but since I forgot to do Raw captions yesterday I was worried I'd forget to do this too lol.
Join us tonight for everyone's new favorite TV show on the MSG Network.
Hour 1: December 17, 1979: "The Birth of Hulkamania" 1) Hulk Hogan vs. Ted Dibiase 2) WWF Title - Texas Death: (c)Bob Backlund vs. Bobby Duncum 3) NWA Title Defended at MSG!: (c)Harley Race vs. Dusty Rhodes 4) I-C Title:(c)Pat Patterson vs. Dominic Denucci
Hour 2: February 23, 1987: "Tag Team Turmoil" 1) Elimination Rules 6 Man Tag Match:Roddy Piper/Rick Steambaot/Junkyard Dog vs. Randy Savage/Harley Race/Adrian Adonis 2) Islanders vs. Demolition (Demolition's MSG debut) 3) WWF Tag Team Title: (c)Hart Foundation vs. Killer Bees
The order for the first show is correct but the second show should be: Demos/Islanders, Harts/Bees, 6 man tag.
Hope to see everyone enjoying this tonight. And as always No Spoilers. You never know when someone watching is seeing these matches for the first time.

Here's something a little special for tonight's 2nd show. I have video of a promo leading up to the 6 man tag that was aired during WWF weekend programming shot just for the New York market. I went and transcribed the interview. Hope you enjoy Mean Gene Okerlund: Alright New York City we're gonna be at Madison Square Garden this Monday night. VERY VERY Important. Tickets for Wrestlemania 3 will be on sale in Madison Square Garden on Monday night prior to the big World Wrestling Federation event that starts uh at 7:30 pm. By the way I should remind you, get your tickets in advance for Wrestlemania 3. It will be the wrestling extravaganza of a lifetime. On Monday night, phenomenal card, Tito Santana squares off against "The Natural" Butch Reed. Jake "The Snake" Roberts to meet King Kong Bundy. And these 3 men involved in a 6 man tag. in the opposing corner will be "Rowdy" Roddy Piper, Junkyard Dog, and Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat to face The Macho Man "Macho Man" Randy Savage: Oooh Yeah! Okerlund: the King of wrestling, and "Adorable" Adrian Adonis. "Adorable" Adrian Adonis: *looking at a piece of paper before speaking* You know I know this is an elimination match. And I know somebody could be....it could be 3 against 1 at anytime. It could be 2 against 2. But I want Roddy Piper. I know how respectable partments(?) and opponents. But Roddy Piper, the jealousy's gonna kill you. Wrecking my Flower Shop's gonna kill you. Hurting my petunias is gonna hurt you. And it's even steven daddy and it's coming down in Madison Square Garden. Okerlund: Nice fit on the sweatshirt there uh Adrian. King of wrestling, Harley Race, your thoughts. "King" Harley Race: The Junkyard Dog. One more time around. Get ready to bow. Okerlund: How about that. Savage: Look into the future. What are you lookin at there? Can..you..see...our...future? YEAH. Madison Square Garden is the place to be. Yeah. 6 man tag elimination. And I wanna be a great partner! I wanna be the best partner that ever was. And The Dragon will burn. King yeah. The Dragon will burn. Adonis yeah in the corner. We're gonna be good. We're gonna look good together yeah. GARDEN ON FIRE! Okerlund: Alright I thank you very much gentlemen. 6 man tag. Remember tickets prior to the event for Wrestlemania 3, we'll see ya Monday night... The tape cut off there. I have a tiny piece of the interview with JYD and Steamboat but nothing of what they say, so it would hardly be interesting.

This was Pipers last match in MSG for about 2 1/2 years and it is really good. He won't dissapoint.

And also in defense of Adrian, that was a bad promo on his part but he was very good on the mic. Here's a promo he cut on Piper right before their WM3 match that I thought was quite good.
Adrian Adonis: Well my main man Crazy Larry, he told me a story about Roddy Piper has plans of retirement. I believe so! The man cannot take the punishment like the Adonis One, that can take a lickin and keep on tickin. It's gonna come down to violence and PAIN. The ultimate can come and the lobotomy can come to your body. By the hands, the left and the right, that can send you to the promised land and the other to the hospital. But remember this, I am like a vegematic. I can slice and dice and for no extra charge, get rid of Piper.

I can't figure out why WWE isn't hyping this show more. I mean, they hype the Diva Search, "The Marine", and the Great Khali/Undertaker LMS match, but they don't hype...
Oh wait, never mind. I think I got it.

I think I got it. that and its locally on in the New York City area. So wasting national air time would seem a bit much.

Looking forward to it. I wonder if they'll acknowledge the Backlund/Duncam match was for the vacant title. They've never recognized the Inoki title change.
I can't wait for the second hour. I read a review of that six-man tag and the main event sounded awesome. Also, the Hart Foundation and the Killer Bees always wrestled excellent matches.

I just wonder if they're ever going to let Gene Okerlund out of that studio, the man must be dying of starvation by now

The 6-man tag from the 2/23/87 is one of my favorite matches from WWE.
I have it via WWE 24/7, and it's awesome, as for the 12/79 show, I'd probably watch it for DiBiase/Hogan, but that's all really.

I'm not sure who's on commentary for the first show but the 2nd show has the team of Gorilla Monsoon and Bobby Heenan, that's worth the admission price right there.
