Do you think Koko would have been a successful upper midcarder in the WWF. I think he was a missed opportunity, he was over with the crowd.

I think a good run in the upper midcard would have made him a surefire hall of famer.....
....wait.

Honestly, probably not. He threw a mean dropkick, but his work wasn't really all that. And as a rule, if you have an animal with you and said animal doesn't get used to intimidate your opponent, it's a waste of time.
They did try to put him in matches against Butch Reed, and he never seemed like he'd be a threat. At that moment, he slid back down the card, destined to open house shows against Steve Lombardi, Lanny Poffo or the great "Iron" Mike Sharpe.

I can see it. Maybe not actually winning the IC title, but certainly challenging someone like Mr. Perfect or HTM and putting up a valiant effort before ultimately coming up short.
He's one of those guys that a lot of fans remember, even though he didn't have a huge push behind him. Yeah, they may only remember him because he had a parrot, but they remember.

From what I've seen from Koko B. Ware he was an alright wrestler sort of the prototype for a wrestler like 2 Cold Scorpio or Kofi Kingston. He was a medium sized dude that could do awesome dropkicks and had an awesome looking Brainbuster and could put on a good match when given the chance.
I feel he probably would have translated better in todays era than in the eighties, because he wouldn't be given such silly gimmicks and would have made an awesome babyface sort of like Kofi. Also the thing is he had a lot of charisma and his CWA stuff shows this.
However in WWF he really was never given a chance to show what he had to offer. The Birdman stuff typecasted him and you can't really take that too seriously at all when you have a dude with a Macaw flapping his arms like wings it's too silly no wonder he couldn't get any real feuds the closest was with Butch Reed but he was just as badly booked as they tried to make him black version of Ric Flair which did not fit and made him look silly when he should been booked as a legit badass since that fit him not prancing around like moron and the blonde hair looked so awful, never a good look.
Also the whole High Energy stuff was dumb and the memorable thing they did was wear ridiculous looking pants and those pants were horrendous! If they put Koko and Owen as a real tag team they could have won the tag titles easily as they were very talented but the High Energy crap was a joke.
All in all though Koko B. Ware is very influential wrestler and inspired many people and long with Bobo Brazil, Junk Yard Dog and Tony Atlas they changed the landscape of wrestling and have allowed people like Burke, Booker T, Kofi Kingston, Mark Henry, and The Rock to be taken seriously when they most likely wouldn't back in the day.

Honestly, Koko didn't have a terrible run. I saw him pick up a number of good wins early in his wwf career. As his tenure with the company progressed, he definitely began losing more. Personally, I don't have a problem w/ Koko being in the HOF.

His Ghostbuster is legend, but when you come to the ring with a parrot and your hair colored to resemble a parrot you're done before you get there.

The Ghostbuster honestly looked like death in late 80s WWF.

I always thought him and Owen could've been the under dog tag team champions back in 1992, they worked extremely well together

Ill always love Koko. Was a big fan of his as a very young kid and loved Frankie. The guy was a good worker and had plenty of charisma and talent, never complained and was hugely popular with the fans back in the day.The guys in the locker room obviously loved having him around to and im sure they all feel good about him being in the HOF.

Question: Since Koko is a HOF'er, does that make Frankie an HOF'er too?

Question: Since Koko is a HOF'er, does that make Frankie an HOF'er too? Yeah, Frankie's in the animal wing of the HOF, right next to Mathilda, Damian and George Steele.

The Ghostbuster honestly looked like death in late 80s WWF. The Ghostbuster was a badass finisher and Koko also threw a mean, mean missile dropkick. When's the last time you saw someone hit one off the top rope and land on their feet? (In the 80s, anyway.)

I thought Koko was a great guy for early in the card because he brought a lot of energy with him and I think that rubbed off on the crowd a lot and got them warmed up for the night.
Koko was reliable. Always knew you'd get a good match with him.

I can't believe how many people are complaining about Koko's look and gimmick. Dude had a great gimmick, and great attire. He was colorful memorable and the WWE needs many more like him. Who cares if he won or lost every time I saw the man I was entertained, and thats what its all about. I'll take Koko over boring guy black trunks #244 any day of the week.

I always marked for him. Loved his music, had some nice moves in the ring, great charisma, and yes I did Do the Bird every time he came out. I don't know why he was jobbed in just about every match. Only thing I can think of was his height, as he was probably the shortest guy on the roster.

Dude was a bona fide main-eventer. And if you don't believe me, check this out...

He would have been a main eventer if they brought in his mother, Tupper to manage him. Sweet Sapphire could have been repackaged as Mrs. Ware.
Yeah, I stole the Tupper Ware joke from The Brain.

Dude was a bona fide main-eventer. And if you don't believe me, check this out... Nice find...but in the old NWA territories, a lot of lesser deserved people got main events with Flair. And it figures Dusty got himself thrown in there too.
