Jim Duggan had a long career in WWF and WCW. He got massively over because of the pro USA gimmick in the WWF. According to me Duggan is a legend. What is your opinion about him?

Yes. He came up through the territorys and was a solid regional wrestler until going to WWE. Hell he was the "first" guy to knockdown Andre.

I consider him a legend. As far as being over, he was up there with guys like Hogan and Warrior. He was entertaining in the ring and most casual fans still know of him today.

Definately a legend. His Mid South stuff was awesome, and when given the platform he still produced on the big stage, such as his US Title match with Vader in 94.

Duggan is a legend by far.
Winner of the first ever Royal Rumble Former WCW US and TV champ
and like stated, he had one hell of a career in Mid-South.
Put his whole heel run in late WCW to the side; he has done some great things in wrestling, he may not have a historic career when it comes to title reigns but he is a legend, imo.

Of course hes a legend. He is instantly recognizable, is/was always one of the more over guys on the roster, and he has had some very memorable moments, and feuds over the years.

I don't think he's a legend. However, my definition of "legend" is pretty picky.
A guy who those that don't watch wrestling can name? That's a legend. Austin, The Rock, Hogan, Hart, etc.
I don't think that Duggan can be put there.

In fact by that criteria only legends we're left with are Hogan, Austin, Rock, Andre, and possibly Warrior, and Savage. There are a ton of guys out there that people who don't watch wrestling know of and remember, but as far as putting a name to a picture I think that Hogan, Austin, Rock, and Andre are the only slam dunks.

Glad to see so many supporting ol' Hacksaw on this one. I'm right there with you.
He's a great guy to meet, too. You can tell he enjoys meeting the fans, and even though it was about a year between meetings, he seemed to remember me. That's always a cool bonus.
But yeah, I've noticed periods of time when a lot of fans on the internet wanted to write Duggan off because "he can't work." I disagree completely. It's nice to see some online fans give him some accolades.

The reason I put Hart in there is because I'm from Canada. So I guess there's some sort of bias, I suppose.

He's a legend to me. I always loved Hacksaw Jim Duggan. He wasn't the greatest worker in the world, but he was always entertaining and fun and he always over. No matter how many times he lost in his last few runs, he was always able to pop a crowd and get a reaction. He was great.

The fact the guy can get a USA chant going almost anywhere like whenever he wrestled in Scotland etc. surely makes him a legend lol

I Love the Hacksaw. He's an Upstate legend. A Face midcarder who could always headline a TV show or house show. If you're from Glens Falls/Upstate, or are Irish, then you now the real pronunciation is "DooGan."

Let's see...
- Can always get the crowd to pop, even decades after his career was in its prime. - Has had a long, storied career - Winner of the first ever Royal Rumble - Got "killed" by Randy Orton
All these things, IMO, make Duggan a legend. U-S-A!

I liked when Heelberg punched him in the kidneys and made him bleed from his mouth after he came back from cancer.

Absolutely a legend. I compare Matt Hardy to him. Not the top guy but damn sure of the the most over.
