Nice video. In your opinion, what was your favorite match of his? I personally enjoyed his lumberjack match in 1983 with Kerry Von Erich.

Terry Gordy is probably my 3rd all time favorite, behind only Flair and Anderson. It's kind of hard for me to pick out a favorite match, and I've actually had only limited exposure to his Japanese stuff.

My favorite stuff of his outside of the Von Erich stuff was his run as UWF champ in 1986. Always felt that Mid-South/UWF/Watts stuff had almost its own unique style of wrestling, and Gordy was a great choice for champ of that promotion.
Had good matches against Ted DiBiase, Duggan (who in his pre-WWF days could really go and have great brawls), Steve Williams. Loved those matches as a kid, and they still hold up.
He also had a surprisingly good brawl with Jerry Blackwell in the AWA. I say surprisingly because Blackwell was pretty good for a really heavy dude, but had put on so much weight by 1985 he was past his prime.
And anytime Gordy and Bruiser Brody were wailing away on each other, it was awesome.
Hate to act like Gordy was just a brawler, 'cause he could wrestle any style out there at the time, but man, he was great brawling with certain opponents because he was so quick for his size, had such great timing, and worked a fast pace with a ton of intensity.

It's been a long time since I've seen most of Gordy's older matches, but this one was awesome, especially for post-coma Gordy:
It's the full match, not sure why it says part one of 2. Many people have called it Gordy's last truly great match. Rest in peace, Bamm Bamm.

Terry Gordy was always my favorite Freebird. his work in WCCW with Hayes and Roberts and the Von Erichs is classic.

I thought the match between him / Dr. Death against The Eliminators in ECW was great. (The match where Perry Saturn hit the elbow drop off the scaffold onto I believe Dr. Death after the match)

Gordy/Williams vs. Misawa/Akiyama anyone?
Also, I'll fight to the death arguing Gordy/Williams vs. The Steiners (and not the PPV Bash at the Beach match).

Gordy & Williams really were just awesome together. It's hard to believe they're both gone.
As for the Freebirds/Von Erichs feud, it's one of the main reasons I have WWE Classics. Those old WCCW shows never disappoint me.

I really enjoyed his Barbwire Bat/Thumbtack match in the first round of the King of the Deathmatch tournament against Cactus Jack, especially after reading the story in Foley's book about Gordy not knowing what to do in a thumbtack match. You wouldn't know it when you see him deliver his awesome-looking punches, and power-bombing Cactus onto the thumbtacks.
But I will admit- apart from seeing him in the WWE-produced WCCW DVD, and his short, short run as The Executioner in 1996- my Terry-Gordy knowledge is limited.
