For any uber Star Wars geeks like me, a deleted scene from RotJ:

Every panel always has some geek that shouts 'YEAH!' at everything.
Announcer: ...and the the company that will be doing the catering backstage for the Captain America movie; Food of Hollywood Geek: YEAH!
Cool deleted scene. I guess that goes after the opening scene on the Death Star II and before the scene of the R2D2 and C3P0 approaching Jabba's Palace.

I've always wanted to see the deleted scene about Vader choking a pair of Royal Guards.

I would've liked that to be in there; I guess they wanted Luke's entrance at Jabba's palace to be dramatic reveal, but bookending the film by starting it with Luke and Vader connecting and ending it with them reuniting just feels more appropriate.

That reminds me of the first WWF house show I ever went to, a guy steps into the ring, whom we think is the ring announcer, and he got a huge pop, because we thought the show was starting. He then started shilling merchandise and got booed every other time he popped up lol

I assume all the deleted scenes were kept in a network of caves in the Judean Wilderness.

Their crab puffs are REASON to shout YEAH!! Anyhow...I remember reading about this scene in the Return Of The Jedi novelization. I really don't know why everyone was cheering about it, I was kinda hoping it was actually going to be a scene of Vader in possession of Obi-Wan's lightsaber as a trophy from Cloud City.

Pretty cool scene.
I hope they throw some of these things into the inevitable massive blu-ray set.

Pretty cool scene. I hope they throw some of these things into the inevitable massive blu-ray set. They probably will (that's why they showed this). Speaking of the Royal Guards - I'm so pissed that we never got to see them in action. They're supposed to be badass, but the only time we really see them they get sent away or Yoda knocks them out or they just stand there.

George Lucas was a master of creating something that could've been totally badass and turn it into a one-off bitch.

Well, he did have them do something, it just got cut from the final print of the film. Originally, the Emperor's guards use their electro-staffs to beat down Moff Jerjerrod after the Emperor's arrival at the 2nd Death Star... It was filmed but removed. I think there's a picture of it floating around from a ROTJ trading card. As for the scene - very cool to see, but I think they made a good choice with editing it out - makes Luke's arrival much more impressive. It's like the sandstorm scene or the wampa attack in ESB - things I'd love to see in a 'deleted scenes' menu on a DVD, but not necessary to put back into the film.

I don't know if it's just the utter thrill of seeing an old scene from the movies, or what...but this gave me total chills. When Vader talks of destiny and all that, and Luke ignites his new lightsaber, it's like he's saying "yeah...I'm gonna shove destiny up your ass, dad." Very cool moment...to tell the truth, I'd prefer it if they put this back into the film.

yeah that was pretty sweet, i think it would have worked better in the film and think it helps serve the story better for luke and vader

its a cool scene, doesnt work as the start of the movie.
if it happened after the jabba strategy meeting, for example, with luke in his room instead of a cave, would have been much better - the connection established at the end of empire strikes back is reinforced here. and lukes poor decision to go with Hans team is amplified (as vader senses his son on the shuttle)

Meh, I prefer them standing there looking badass to George Lucas choosing to do something with them that makes them look like idiots. Greedo shooting first/Boba Fett killed by a blind man, that sort of thing. Keep the mystique.

It's funny how that's ok yet Han would look "bad" if he shot first. I wonder if Lucas went up to Spielberg at any point and said "let's change it" and was promptly told off. I grew up with the knowledge that Han shot first. It never bothered me and all the kids loved it and thought it was total badass!
